Is it possible for a dog to get fleas and/or tics in cold, snowy winter months?

I guess I am trying to find out if protection is necessary, or if paying the Vet. Cinic $14.00 a month is a waste during these months.

This is a top line flea and tic treatment which is placed on the dogs skin, just. Are others just as effective?

Thanks,

Noralyn

My fish has white spot. I have given him some treatment that I found in a petshop, but it was a week after I first noticed it. I was just wondering if there is anything else that I could do, or what the chances of him survivng are.

Dogs wag their tail to show their happiness and love. But is there any specific reason why dogs wag its tail while no other animal like elephant, cat or cow etc wag their tail to express thier happiness?

We have a 7 month old mini daschund, and are thinking of adopting a 3 month old blind puppy, also mini daschund. We are big animal lovers, but wouldn't want her to suffer, what would her chances be of having a healthy happy life? Other health defects? Can she function and live a long life? It breaks our hearts when a pet dies, and that would as well. Any help is appreciated. The group we may get her from, says she will attach herself to another dog, and follow it around, then whimper if she gets lost, and any one of the other dogs, will come around her, and she will follow it back.

I have a friend that paid 500 for a slow dog from her breeder that she got 2 other healthy puppies form. she also helps her own like ,grooming, whelping and what not.

so anyway Poeky was born and he didn't get alot of air when he was born so he's kinda slow. My friend knew this becasue she was there when he was born. the breeder wanted to use him for breeding stock but as he got older he didn't grow outta the slowness. so the breeder took him to the vet to be fixed.

A year goes by and my friend desides that she wants to take him into her home. so her and the breeder work out a deal to sell him for 800. my friend gave her 500 so far but ended up spending 300 in vet care for poeky so i told her NOT to pay her any more money. she found out that poeky has hydrocephalous, the breeder has not returend emails ,phone calls, and will not give her any reocreds. so my friend wants to know if there's any lemon laws for some thing like this?

2 months ago our dogs got into rat poisoning over at some friends home. Once we noticed this, which was within 1 hour,we took them right into the vet. They vet indouced vomiting and They where put on Vitamine K pills, for 1 week each and then re tested to see if thier blood had coagulated, but no, the test came back bad, so once again they where put on Vit. K. after another 2 weeks of being on Vit K, they where retested again, still thier blood work came back bad, so a 3rd time they went on it, and again thier blood work came back bad. Now our Vet doesn't know what to do! Our dogs are 2 Chuahuaia's under 4 pounds and 1 Whippit 28 pounds. Does anyone have any other ideas?? I was told yesterday by a friend to give our dogs a little cooked liver to help build up thier iron levels and maybe that would help them. Please can anyone else suguest anything?? I'm HELPLESS!!!

Is this true? To get a pet bee, all you have to do is find a big fat one flying lazily around then spray it with the spray you can buy that freezes chewing gum (so you can get it off of clothes - I think it's probably liquid nitrogen spray). Once frozen, tie a piece of thread around the bee's middle then wait for him to defrost. When he does, he'll still be alive and will start to fly about again. Of course, you have him on his new 'lead' so he'll go with you where ever you go! Does anyone think this is true? Have you done it? Don't you think it is a bit cruel?
