Basic training for small puppies

I knew a cat once who would jump into your arms on command. I'd love for my cat to do that. She already runs to greet me when I get home and stretches up against my leg to say hello.
A few months ago I started saying "up" every time I see her jump, but she still isn't associating the word with the action.
Does anyone know how to train a cat to jump into my arms on command?

Do they have any advantage over fancy mice and rats, as far as illnesses and lifespan, or would it be reasonably logical to buy two live feed mice as pets, instead of fancy mice?

My cousin wants two pet mice, and I'm trying to help him and his Mother gather information. (We all know that she'll end up taking care of them, anyway.) I am unable to find much about price range for feed mice (or fancy mice) online (Outside of independent retailers and independent breeders. I'm thinking more petco/petsmart, as to where the mice will be purchased.), and can't find anywhere locally to check prices, so that information is vital.

Thanks in advance.

There's a dog that is always outside in this guys garden, I can't tell if it's old or starving. And it never seems to be out of the garden, everytime I pass. It's always dropping it's head and laying down if you look at it, in a submissive type of way. Is this dog being abused or something?

She hadnt called me for about a month. I assumed it was due to the holidays. The last time I saw her she had stopped over with her nephew and his Saint Bernard. This dog was about 13 mos old. Her nephew George, was very excited about his dog and wanted my opinion. I could see in his eyes he felt insulted when I said I was not a fan of the mantle coat Saint. I listened closely for a half hour as he bragged about this dog. Never once making a negative statement towards the dog. The truth is it was roach backed and a real POS. (I didnt tell them this) Its entire confirmation was off balance. They left rather aburptly when I asked why the dog hadn't been fixed yet. ( now I think they expected me to allow the dog to breed with my female when she matures) I find out a month later she has been upset with me because I insulted her nephew. Should I have lied? Weren't they asking my opinion? I wasnt rude just factual.

Our last dog was such a good friend. I know this is a different dog etc. and he's just being a puppy but he is more dominant and challenging and I'm struggling to bond with him. Will this make it hard for me to train him? should I keep him? My husband adores this this pup but doesn't have time to train it. Its a border collie and our third at that so I know how bright they are and how important training is.

how annoying is it when you ask a question to help you get better knowledge of breeding a dog and you get slated for it, if you didnt ask then you would be no better offand the dog could suffer as a result, i hate these ppl who slate ppl for asking, think they have forgot its a question&answer site. b4 u ask, i am a breeder and a respectable one with knowledge.....

ok so i bred my 4 year old female labrador x german shepherd with my 2 year old male golden retriever x staffy and she is due to have puppys in about like.. 2 days but last year my female dog (daisy) was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and my male (boomer) has been swaying his hips, having problems walking and was showing signs of hip dysplasia.
boomer was showing these signs aprox 7 mths ago but i bred him and her because i didnt know what it was.
i was wondring, is elbow or hip dyplasia hereditory? i do hope not because i dont want the pupys to get it. my female doesnt have bad elbow dysplasia but its affecting her walking, running, getting up, going up and down stairs ect.
can anybody who has bred dogs before, give me some HELPFUL TIPS?
i have never bred before so i need a bit of help. i did not bye my dogs from a reputoble breeder but they did not screan the sire and ***** and that was ok wit me coz i didnt think they were gonna get it.the breeder had no health guarantee!!!!

etc of the puppy that bugs her as this is done by me every evening. Its the time she spends alone with the pup at home after my daughter goes to school and I leave for office. . The pup keeps barking and following her all around the house. The breed is a pomeranian and it was bought from a vet and is quite healthy (2 months old) and very sweet. My daughter also wants to keep playing with it all the time (but in the bargain her studies should not get neglected which is also the reason my wife is upset). So right now the pup's future in our home seems uncertain?? So how do I convince her?

we host a dog photo contest that we believe is the most fair way to have one. It takes out all the possibilities of dogs winning because their owners click alot or how many friends they have.
