My husband and I adopted our cat, Sammy, in July. We noticed immediately that Sammy would run furiously from one room to the other or up and down the stairs...almost as if something was chasing him! He is very aware of the furniture and doesn't hurt himself. We've taken him to the vet and I was less than impressed with her answer. He has epilepsy, but she doesn't think that causes this behavior. Anyone else experienced this situation and is it a serious problem? We love Sammy and desperately are seeking answers.

Would dog beds work? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Its the size of a pimple and she only has one. It is located on the right side of her back. (down the side a tiny bit)I looked at it, and did see anything, then gentle squeezed it. It was red afterwards, I think a dot of blood.
She has been to the vet, all her shots are updated, just finished the last treatment of advantage multi (for heartworms, fleas, etc).
She eats well, is very energetic, no temperature, and this "pimple" does not bother her at all....What could it be?
Apart from telling me to take her to the vet, does anyone have any idea's? Thanks very much!

I'm looking for a good pet for my situation. I live in a dorm, in a room by myself. My family is in another state. I'm looking for a pet that's friendly, small, not too hard to maintain, dorm friendly, etc.

I was originally thinking of a leopard gecko. They're small, not too hard to maintain, like to be held, relatively cheap, amongst other things.

Any suggestions?

My dog is a Chow-mix that I've had for over 7 years. He's a gentle, furry, outside dog, and he's really great! My problem is, he never wants to come inside when it's cold out! True, he has a VERY VERY THICK coating of fur, and is NEVER cold, but when it gets to freezing tempuratures outside, I almost feel as if it's my duty to bring him inside! ...But, whenever I try to bring him in, he resists, and when I finally DO get him inside, all he does is sit beside the door and stare at me, occasinally whining, until I let him out.

So, should I leave him outside since he seems to be most comfortable there, even though I'm afriad he may get too cold, or should I bring him inside against his will and listen to his whining?

...And, YES, i DO force him to come inside when it's storming out... I'm not talking about that. I'm just talking about when it's really cold.

PLEASE ANSWER! =]

Ok, so this beautiful gray cat has been hanging around for about a week, I gave in! It's such a pretty cat and it's sooo cold outside! I live in michigan and don't have the heart to leave this kitty in the cold. It's almost identical to one I had 7 years ago that ran away. Anyway this cat is really skinny and it's hard to get it to eat. I'm gonna take it to the vet very soon! The only thing it will eat is lunch meat, like turkey and ham. I bought some canned shredded cat food and it won't touch it. I tried giving it dry dog food and it won't eat that either. I have a 10 week old Akita puppy that wants to tackle the kitty and play with it, I think they'll get along fine cuz the puppy is so young, and it will be good company besides the 2 crazy kids. This cat will only take powdered milk and water and this lunch meat, any suggestions to put meat on it's bones quick?! Thanks for taking the time to read all of this!!

my dog eats twice a day and poops at odd hours. i'm trying to change his feed to once a day. when his main meal is in the evening, he poops just after breakfast. but when his main meal is in the morning, he doesn't poop during his walk which is just after (hasn't digested?). he poops even before dinner. i'm just wondering what will happen when he's eventually only fed 1 meal a day? any idea how long it takes for bowel movement to occur?

I am looking to buy a chihuahua puppy (not for breeding or showing, but I want an AKC-certifiable pup), and have been doing tons of research in order to make an educated decision. I have found lots of breeders here in NJ, but upon examining their websites, I have determined that they HAVE to be puppy mills ("CKC certifiable pups", etc?), putting out 3 litters a month?! I read somewhere that 3-4 litters a YEAR is ideal. Does anyone know of any chihuahua breeders (preferably in the NJ/PA/NY area) that meet the following criteria?:

1) breeds to BETTER the breed, and currently SHOWS their dogs
2) breeds chihuahuas only (no other breeds)
3) both the sire and dam are AKC-certified (CKC scares me)

There's only one AKC listing in NJ, I checked her out and it may be a puppy mill. :( Any other suggestions? Please post a link or contact info! Thanks in advance! :) (Any other related advice would be appreciated here also!)

My cat Jack is very agressive towards strangers and sometimes me. He likes to bite and scratch. Its not playfull... I know the difference. I love him very much... I don't have kids yet but I am afarid that when I do, I will have to give him away (something I do not want to do!) Why is he like this? What can I do to get him to stop. He is 8 months old.

It's not eating at all, and can go on for even a month without food (yes I do offer it food, but it doesn't eat it). Also, one of the turtles has swollen eyes, and when it goes underwater it sometimes does open mouth breathing. They sleep a lot, and always close their eyes.

I know they're sick, but I don't have a reptile veterarinian in our area, and my mom's not willing to pay for a vet.
What should I do?

Has your pet dog or cat ever had babies? What happened to the little ones? Where did they go? How did mom cope with the litter and what happened to her after they were gone?
