Hi Bonnie...consider first trying Nature's Miracle "Just For Cats" found worldwide at most pet stores. It's an enzymatic neutralizer which works by breaking down urine proteins by thoroughly soaking the areas affected and allowing to air dry. Repeated applications are necessary for heavily soiled areas. Mattresses are more difficult to treat so you will need a lot and Nature's Miracle "Just for Cats" which also comes in a gallon size. If this fails to work you may have to consider replacing the mattress.

We've tested nearly all enzyme neutralizers available in the marketplace for our exotic cats which have stronger urine than domestic cats and found that Nature's Miracle Just for Cats has always worked the best.

Don't bother with trying any other product other than Urine Gone. It is the most awesome product in the world. I have fought cat urine odors for the last 10 years and have just recently discovered this product. It does not cover up the odor, it does not add to the odor, it completely eliminates the odor and the stain. It breaks down the enzymes in the urine. You can now purchase it at Wal-Mart for about $15 for a bottle. It comes with a black light that helps you to locate the actual source of the odor. After you have treated the area with the spray you can shine the black light over the area and you are no longer able to detect the stain....not even with your nose. Again, don't waste your time with any other remedies you may hear of...they don't work...they might work short term but they won't last. Urine Gone is the only one that truly works! Hope you at least give it a shot! Good luck!

Forget about using Blood enzyme based products like Urine gone, nature's miracle etc.. These products just do not work. Dumb Cat Anti-Marking is sold by Petco and Drs Foster and Smith on their websites. Spray it on the mattress and do not wipe it up. Get the product into the mattress and its ingredients will get rid of the odor and stains.

Once you try to get the urine out with an enzyme cleaner like Nature's Miracle, put a mattress cover over it like a quilted one, or a thin one for dust mites, or a plastic one, just in case the smell or yuckiness is still in there. You don't want to be sleeping next to that ickiness.
