It isn't difficult but you can't just throw some pieces of material together either. Small tanks can be purchased more cheaply than you can build them. nowadays once you get up to 75-80 gal and above you can save money by building your own. The larger the tank the more you can save. Plus you can make it to custom fit a specific space (but remember that you must also build your top and lighting to fit the space). I've built all glass, other materials, plastic tanks and Formica covered or epoxied wood with a glass front or portholes, etc. I never had one come apart. OTOH, the first 180 gal tank that I bought (I did not have the time to build my own and this one looked good), a tank manufactured by a large nationwide firm, came apart along a back corner after about six months. Water all over the floor! I put the fish in a plastic wading pool on the kitchen floor, took the thing apart, cleaned the edges and put it back together for myself. Worked fine after that. Email me if you want details or additional ideas.

i do not think it to be difficult, if i come into the money i would like to possess, i would build my dream fish tank, outdoor variety to hold deep sea fish and place it at the side of my house, on a side street in the Bronx nyc woodlawn section, this place looks like a castle from the outside,on one side is my covered in clear plexi glass swimming pool,on the other would be my deep sea fish tank,
You know you could go to some of these places that build for the rich and get tips, and ideas, it should be a relativly easy process now adays with all the modern materials that are so easy to work with good luck
