I've had a cockatiel for the past year and a half and we are very close but I'm afraid he gets lonely when I'm at work (I work 8 to 12 hour days.) He seems okay with the schedule as he's remained a very health, loving bird. Still, I would like for him to have a companion, and I wouldn't mind having another bird. I've been thinking about getting him a friend but I'm not sure how to go about doing this. Lucius is a pied cockatiel so I'm not even sure what sex he is, but he's very very affectionate and not very sing-song-like so I suppose he's a girl. Any suggestions? Could another bird help like a budgie or another cockatiel?
Thanks.

My 8-month-old Siamese cat follows me all over the house in almost dog-like fashion. My other cats don't do this. Is this normal behaviour for Siamese? Will she outgrow this?

I have a beta fish in my aquarium along with a few tetras and guppies. I have found 3 dead fish in my tank in the past 48 hours and have had the tank for about 6 days now. I truly suspect that my beta fish was up to the job as I noticed that the victim's fins had been "eaten off" Is there anything I can do about this without separating the beta fish from the tank or will I continue to have further victims? I'd like to add more fish to my 10 gallon aquarium but now I'm afraid to introduce them to this little, aggressive bad ***. Any tips could help.

Thanks in advance

Looking at purchasing a third bird have a Male sun conure & a female green cheek conure. *She loves to cuddle with the sun but my sun tends to shy away from the Green cheek. However, they do interact by playing tug of war with toys and communicate back and forth when they are on opposite sides of the room. They sleep together. The Green cheek does not seem to get as much attention as she wants from the sun conure.
When I bring her to the pet sto, is this a good Idea re, she tries to bop her head and tries to get the other birds attention? How much moor work is a third bird? If I get one that will play with the green cheek will I be label to take the sun out without her being jellies?

My cat Toby was really sweet and he died when I was 8 and now I'm 10 but I miss him so much. I just want to cry and cry and cry and back then a nasty girl said to me "Oh, be quiet it was just a cat. Get over it." I have never forgiven her since.

My dog has been pregnant for approximately 63 days and is behaving differently the last 24 hours. She did not eat much last night and none this morning. I know that this is a signal that the first stage of labor has begun. What bodily signals should I watch for? Because it is her first litter, I am afraid she might freak out and kill her first born; so I am trying to stay with her as much as possible today. Am I going overboard by staying by her side at all times?

Some guy wrote a letter to the editor complaining about people who pay so much attention to their dogs and spend money on them when there are charities that need help. Some people have written in to tell him that while they own dogs they also contribute to charities, etc and how dare he tell them what their hobbies should be. I'd like to write a short response of my own mentioning health benefits since no one has touched on that subject yet.

I had an enlighting convo this past summer with an ignorant dog owner. he had a beautiful mastif puppy and was talking to me and my boyfriend about one of our dogs he wanted to know his dog was going to get as big as ours. Then he proceeded to tell us how he was going to keep him chained in the back yard or basement so he dosnt get much contact with other people so he will be mean and also not feed his as much to be ornary... for those of you who think like that this "?" is for you.... say your the dog would you protect your owner that treats you as an equal feeds you all your meals and the ocasional treat hamburger of the 1$ menu..not recoming but i do it. lets you sleep in their bed hugs and kisses you when they come home or that owner"stranger"thats taking you from being tied up in the back yard all day then pushing you down the basment stairs into the dark to be their alone all night. I would protect my friend. hopefully this helps you as it helped him.For all of u uneducated ownrs

I found my turtle (Yellow Bellied Slider) outside work one day. She was really small like the size of a silver dollar at the time. I took her home with intentions to find a pond with other turtles to live in but weeks went by and I became attatched. Well she's about 4 1/2 inches now. Well taken care off and happy. Eventually (2-4 yrs yet) I will be moving out of florida due to military. If we move somewhere in which we cant bring our turtle with us I was considering contacting our local zoo which has tons of RES and Yellow Bellies in their park ponds. People always drop pellets in for them (seeing as its open the whole year) and such so I figure she would be ok living there even though she was raised and dependant on me for her food. Does anybody think this is a good idea and that she would thrive in that sort of habitat? I personaly think it would be better for her that way.

I dont believe in just dropping them in any random pond and letting them survive by themselves.

From what I have read here on YA, I have determined that dogs can not be housebroken. As puppies, they jump on people, bite children, and whine all the time. They like to do damage by chewing up wires, cats, and even couches! So, instead of keeping them, people want to get rid of them since they "have no possitive qualities"!

But, then I see a question that states that dogs can be "trained"! What is this allusive training? What doesn't anyone else know about it? Is this just something that a "secret" society knows about and won't share with the rest of us?

TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!

I have to be careful in my selection, as it should be reasonably contained/confined or I will be breaking my lease. Also, I don't want something too difficult to care for.

My cat was sleepeing a lot for the past 2-3 days until finally today i carry her up to her food she seemed thristy, i figure she was walking funny because she had some kind of pain on her hips. Later i put her back on her bed and also put her bed in the floor so she doenst have to worry about jumping up and down since he bed is a director's chair with a huge blanket. She seems better now, i gave her a pinch of Ibuprofen! mixed with her food. I know it sounds crazy automedicating my cat cant be good, but after all these hours i cant get my vet in the phone and i have no other to go in this town. So she is actually walking now looking for me and all, she went to pee which is good because she havent gone for these two days. Does this behavior related to diabitis? she had a blood work not too long ago and last i knew was that she was hard as a rock. Does this illness comes up from one month to the other? what could this be? Any vets or experienced people that can help me with this? Thanks
