The best thing to do is to take her to the vet.

The blood should not be dark. The discharge should be a natural red. Your girl will be in heat for about three weeks.

If you are not careful, within a few weeks she could develop pyometra. This is a serious condition that effects the uterus of the dog, no matter what age the dog is, but it is more common in older females. The uterus becomes infected after the heat cycle is over. Pyometra is fatal if not treated. Spaying is the only treatment of this infection.

Please take your girl to the vet just to be safe.

No it's not ok for a girl dog to blood really dark like tha I think yu should take her to the best vet in town or where yu live then who ever yu live with yu should tell yur parents or grandparents or who ever yu live with and let them check it out first. Then when yu take her to the vet and they say there is nothing wrong with her then she get back in heat yu can let her breed! I wish yu the best of them all and hope it's not any bad news!

It sounds to me that it is OK. It can go through stages of light to dark during her heat. If after her heat is over and she still is that way, take her in to see the vet..................good luck

Please protect your best friend by not letting her be bred and by getting her spayed as quickly as possible. you don't want to be responsible for 8-12 little lives out there running around and having more babies when 90% of them will end up in a shelter and put down....please please i beg of you, have your girl spayed and save many, many lives. it's time to be responsible. make her appt. today. there's no reason to wait. Just do it. okay?
best wishes to you and your girl.

You need to take her to a vet. The blood should not be dark, it should be much lighter.
