I bought a mouse! yey I read online that males smell worse than females. In the store they told me "yea i think it's a girl" but i want to be sure it's a female so I was wondering how you tell the difference?

I have owned both male and female mice. Both give off an odder.
Males have balls and a little wee wee as the females don't. Also if you look closely the females do have nipples.
You want to make sure you keep your mouse in a big enough cage. You also want to make sure they have a wheel to run in and a place to hide. Stay away from wood shavings as it is not that healthy for them. You want to you Care fresh or Total comfort it absorbs the pee extremely well.
Make sure your mouse has mouse food, water and chew sticks 24/7. They do like carrots and a special mouse treat every week.

try googling "mouse gender" and see what you come up with...I know that sometimes males have very visible genitalia but I'm not sure if that's always the case or not.
But, if you clean the cage regularly and it's just one mouse then the smell shouldn't really be a big issue.

How I tell the difference is by looking under the right clicker button. If there is a white button there, it is female. If it is black.. then it is a male. Or you could unscrew the little dial thingy around the ball on the bottom. If the ring underneath is white... it is female. If it is black, it is male.

Males smell just as mush as females. you can tell if it is a male because there should be "balls" that you can def. see.

I had a white gerbil that had these enormous black balls, probably a 3rd of it's entire body
