Actually, it is VERY possible! Mainly, it depends on a couple of things, how often you clean your cage, and what kind of bedding you use.
If you use any kind of wood bedding (preferably Aspen or Pine--NO CEDAR> the oils can cause upper respiratory problems and kill your mouse!). Or, I would use Carefresh bedding (it's also like a recycled newspaper, but it has no dust--no respiratory problems, and it eliminates most of the smell), it works great!
Then you should clean it about once a week and set up a "toilet" inside the cage. Some pet stores actually sell them, I know PetSmart does, it is pretty small and goes in the corner of the cage, and you can buy either cat litter or little litter pearls (i can't remember the name at the moment) and they will eventually learn to go in there, plausibly eliminating most of the smell. My best recommendation would be one of two things, either Yesterday's News (a pellet kind of recycled newspaper as cat/small animal litter, it doesn't clump, but it eliminates a large portion of the smell and works wonders!), or some kind of LOW or NO dust cat litter that clumps.

Because of the "scent marking" there will always be some smell from the mouse.
Keeping the cage clean will help. Remove uneaten food daily, along with any soiled bedding.
Provide fresh water and food daily. Weekly: overall cleaning of cage, wheels, toys, accessories, etc., with hot soap and water, rinse at least 3 times, and dry thoroughly.

Change its bedding, then give it a bath in warm water using kitten shampoo. Be very careful not to let the mouse get too cold while it's wet. Towel it off lightly with a small towel or dry washcloth. Then keep it in a warm, not hot, towel until it's dry. That's what my brother did.
