This has been asked a few times, and that show Mythbusters tried this one out. The duck's quack does have an echo, most of the time when they quack, they are in an area where the sound can not bounce around.

They do if they are in the right area, but they are most often in more open spaces. With no hard surfaces to reflect the sounds.
