I have a Boxer puppy. No change in food. No changes in anything like soap or anything. Today, she just starting breaking out in hives. I dropped cookie dough on the floor earlier and she got to it before I did. Could it be the peanuts or peanut butter?

I bought a red-eared turtle 2 weeks ago and his eating habits were just fine. Now he's stopped eating and hasn't had anything to eat for 5 days now, and he has also been awfully lazy. What should I do? Please RSVP.

I had and still have many hermit crabs. Recently, i bought three new ones from PetsMart. One acts like it lived in my hermit crabitat all its life, one never comes out when i hold it, and one is just limp. I put this crab in an ISO tank just in case it was molting. I noticed it has lost two legs; probably because stress. I don't smell a strong fishy odor, just the regular hermit crab smell. It's not completely out of its shell, yet it is really limp. Is my hermit crab dead?

Do you think it is cruel to keep exotics/reptiles as pets? My ex thought so which is one of the main reasons we broke up. I keep reptiles. I also have domestic pets.

my nextdoor neigbours cat got hit by a car a couple of nights ago. our cat and theirs where bout the same age (1 almost) and they got on so well, kind a like girlfriend and boyfriend. it was cute to see them together. She was the most friendliest cat who loved people who she new and who she didn't know. We all miss her as she was always over at our place playing with our cat or trying to get in our front door! do you think our cat has noticed? he is inside at night more since. but he plays during the night and wakes us up. how do cats show that they know whats happened and that he'd be missing her, if he is??

i was in britain when it bit me. it left 2 track marks about 0.5 cms apart. it bleed ++. it was all black in colour and gripped me as it bit me. it looked like it had a solid shell on it. its body was about 1cm by 2 cm with a leg span of 2 to 3 cms. any help would be grateful as it is still loose in my house and i have 3 cats who i am concerned for.

I often see people eating a hamburger in their SUV which is adorned with Sierra Club and SPCA bumper stickers. We no longer need meat as a source of protein and most people are fully aware that animal abuse in factory farms is very common. Foods like hamburgers and hot dogs promote diabetes and obesity and are terrible for our health in general. I equate putting pepperoni on a pizza to killing an animal for fun and for taste. We also know that it takes 15lbs of grain to make 1lb of beef so we cannot use the excuse that plants also have feelings as a vegetarian diet is even less harmful for plants in general. We now know that raising cattle is terrible for the environment and is on par with automobiles as a source of pollution. So why do people eat meat and say they care about animals and the environment?

i have 2 turtles, the bigger one bites on the smaller one. why? they always got along before, came home and the older one is bitting the small one.

I got locked outside before but I had my nintendo ds lite and I slept with my dog Peppermint (Siberian Huskey) so he has like a giant kennel and actually and I just played my Ds in tehre and I'm thinking of getting a mini plasma tv in there! hehhe maybe

i just adopted a mini-rex rabbit last month from a woman who never played with it. I think it's a girl and she's about 8 months old. she absolutely hates being petted and touched, even when i let her sniff me first she backs away. she's gotten a little better from when i first got her and sometimes lets me touch her head but then runs away. i want to be able to hold her so i can clip her nails and enjoy her rather than just have her just sit in a cage to look at. she even likes my cats better than me!! what should i do?

We have a 7 yr old yellow lab, best dog ever, who gets really bad ear infections. I know they're common due to the floppy droopy ears, but is there anything we can do to try to prevent them? The last one was so bad, he had gotten a secondary infection due to the scratching it and turned out allergic to the ear drops so he had to take benadaryl on top of it. Any ideas??

Also, I'm not saying I'd necessarily do it, has anyone heard of them clipping a Lab's ears for this reason?

I have a Benji-like terrier mix who's a real sweetheart. He's not aggressive and is basically very friendly. The one exception to that rule is when we're out for a walk and are approached by another (bigger) dog. Even if the dog only appears curious and not aggressive, my dog starts to get defensive and growls after a few minutes. Obviously, these bigger dogs could have him for lunch. I'm sure he's a bit intimidated by the size of these other dogs. However, most of them are friendly and just want to get to know him. Is there anything I can do that will help calm him and just make a new friend or two?

I live in a cold state that can get A LOT of snow, like today. I take my doggie on 3 walks every single day, unless there is a horrible thunderstorm or an awful blizzard. Since the snowfall had died down a bit, I decided to take my Yorkshire terrier poodle mix out on a walk. I decided to take the short way because he had short legs and I didn't want to tire him out. I had no idea how deep the snow really was! I was in boots, so I was fine, but poor Dennis was suffering. He was jumping like a frog to get through the really deep fluffy snow. I thought there were only a few deep areas, but I was wrong. By the time I realized the snow was too deep for Dennis to manage well, we were two thirds of the way back home, so we couldn't go back. I ended up carrying tuckered out Dennis the last bit there while he was shivering. My question is, why does my dog get HUGE snow chunks stuff to him? He is pretty well groomed, but still! (adding more, please wait)
