That is a serious problem and you need to take your cat to the doctor asap. That happened to my male cat. It's common in male cats. They need to have a special surgury to stop it from happening. My cat was screaming because he couldn't go to the bathroom. It's not like humans. We can we're just blocked up. Male cats get grit in their bladders..like sometimes food particles get into their bladder and block the hole where they urinate. It is a serious problem and you need to get your cat to the vet. Call them first. I thought my cat was being dumb but he could have died the doctor said..urine becomes toxic when it is not released.

Dont ever give your cat the milk that us humans drink as cats cannot digest it proparly, it is not good for them. Buy whiskas carton milk your cat is sure to enjoy this drink and will lap it all up.
Not all cats will drink water or are not to keen on it , but when they are really thirsty they will drink it without a doubt. Hope this helps. Put a bowl of whiskas milk down and also a bowl of water your can can then choose which one to drink.

I don't think you can get a cat to drink more water unless he chooses to. Some people do report success with the electric cat fountains. It didn't work with my six cats.
Any cat with a history of a blocked bladder needs to have the moisture in his FOOD. So a diet of quality canned food will help your cat as much as anything else. Try Natural Balance, Lick Your Chops, Wellness, Felidae, etc. I also always add a teaspoon of filtered water to each serving of canned food.

if he has a blockage and you keep giving him water, where do you think that water is going to go....you are going to make his bladder burst! Get to another vet as it sounds like the last vet you took him to is not helping. Is he on a special diet, not sure what you mean by biscuits...makes it sound like your vet gave him treats! If he is not urinating, he could die....you need to get him back to the vet ASAP. DO NOT give milk...this just gives cats diarrhea...would do absolutely nothing for a blockage! Get to a vet soon!

This is probably a silly question, but I assume you have seen the vet for this? My cat at work likes to drink directly from the tap. We didn't know this until recently, and now she drinks a lot more water. Maybe try that, see if you can stir her interesst a little somehow.

first off why is it people tell you to take the cat to the vet when under the description it clearly says his vet gave him biscuits that the cat doesnt like? anyway you need to get a new vet if this one isnt helping out the way they should

has he been diagnosed by a vet? or are you just assuming this? if his bladder is blocked the last thing you want him to do is drink more water unless he is on antibiotics because his urine will back up into his system and he will die...if he has been diagnosed and he is on antibiotics then it will be good for him to drink water and flush out...if he hasnt been to the vet get him right away could be fatal if you wait

The first step I think is to consult your vet.
However, try feeding your cat on food in gravy, rather than jelly or dry food.
A good brand of special milk for cats may also help.
But I would suggest you contact your veterinary, as they will give you the best help and advice.

Please bring him to the vet ASAP!! your cat is probably suffering from Urinary Tract Infection which usually incurred in all spayed male cats. You can't force your cat to drink unless he wanted to and if you delay your treatment, your cat may suffer from toxic released from the bladder, the urine will become toxic and it's dangerous to your cat.
Your veterinary doctor will take out his urine that was trapped inside his body and drip him for few days until he's fully recovered, please bring your cat to the veterinary as soon as possible. And Milk is not good for cats it could caused diarheare.

My cats love to play in running water and end up drinking a lot when they do. I would leave a sink runnning just a little bit and see if he likes to play in it and maybe he will drink it.
