I have been advised that angel fish will pick off the tiny hook worms that I had attach to the koi in my pond. I am inquiring whether this is actually the case or simply hear-say. (I did medicate the pond and do not have any worms at the moment). The pond remains warm year round as it is located in the caribbean.

I am not in any way interested in breeding myself, but I have a question. When looking at various cat and dog breeder sites I see something they call Line Breeding and backcrossing. Isn't this inbreeding and if so why don't these animals have health defects.

About a month ago, my grandpa came over with his dog and right when my cat saw the dog, he peed on the floor and jumped onto the counter top and started hissing. Now, even a month after the incident, he jumps onto very high places in my house and walks around on them, sometimes even sleeping on banisters that are 20 feet from the ground (my house has a high ceiling). The other day, he jumped onto a high window sill, got to the end of it, and starting meowing because he didnt have anywhere else to go. I had to get him down myself. Sometimes he knocks over vases and pieces of art. What can I do to stop him from climbing around high places in my house?

I know this is a stupid question and I am a terrible dog owner to ask it, but what would be some good commands to teach my puppy to become more docile and cooperative around the house. He is actually pretty good now because he can, sit, stay, come to go his kennel on command but I am wondering if you have any other things I should teach him? I ordered a dog training book for Dummies.

This morning I had the shock of my life! My two rabbits (both boys, according to the pet shop i bought them from) have produced a litter of 5 baby bunnies. Obviously as I thought they were males this was completely unexpected. So, I could do with a much advice as possible. For example, i've heard that they shouldnt be disturbed as the mother (travis) may kill them, is this true? also, I'm not sure how old they are, I havent checked the sleeping compartment for about 1 week as they dont normally use it so I dont know exactly how many days the babies have been in there, so how old are they when they open their eyes and how long are they (cm/inches) when they are born? Any tips on how to keep mum and babies healthy would be greatly appreciated. I will be phoning the vet tomorrow, but some advice until them would be appreciated.

of noises, people, other than family. I do not know which approach to take with her. If somebody visits she growls and tries to hide, I am concerned that she may get aggressive if cornered. Her walks are getting less and less because she becomes so stressed. Any advice will be appreciated. Apparently she was mistreated by small child before we got her.

I had a puppy but we had to get rid of it because she bit and she was overly hyper! and now i'm ready (and i think my family is ready too) to get another puppy! do you know any dogs that fit at least two of these qualfications:
nice
friendly
playful but not like too hyper
a big dog (not huge but, could still be an inside dog)
easy to train
gets along with other dogs
can swim good (we live on a lake)
doesn't bark too much
doesn't shed like constantly
short hair

yes i know that it all depends on the puppy itself but still! thank you so much! links are appreciated! btw: do not say pit-bull because were not allowed to have pitbulls in my neighborhood! thanks so much!

My husband wants to get a pitbull puppy...badly. His friend has one and it is adorable and very loving, but it's still a puppy. I have a parson russell terrier that's very loving and gets along well with other dogs, so I know he'd be ok with it. I'd like to know, though, would it turn on me or my other dog? Some people say they can't be trusted, but I'd like the opinion of someone who has owned one that is full grown. Do all pitbulls grow up to be mean and aggressive? I know an abused dog will, but we always take very good care of our pets (our dog is spoiled). Anyone who has owned and raised a pitbull, please help!

I have a 20 gallon top fin aquarium with 7 community fish in it (zebra danios, etc.). I have had this tank running for around 3 weeks, so it is almost done cycling, and the ammonia has always been low because of my small fish. In an old tank, I had an algae eater that had been happily living with a danio for over a year, and when I moved them into my new tank, the algae eater died within a day. I thought it was just the course of nature, so I decided to get another one, but he died within a day also. I let the tank run for a while but eventually algae began to grow on the decorations, and I thought it was time for another shot (maybe they were dying from lack of food?). An hour after I got this algae eater, I found him dead. I have no clue what is happening to them.
-The water temp. is 78-80 degrees.
-The pH is 6.9-7.1
-The Ammonia is 0
-The Nitrite is 0
-The Nitrate is just above 0
