I have been advised that angel fish will pick off the tiny hook worms that I had attach to the koi in my pond. I am inquiring whether this is actually the case or simply hear-say. (I did medicate the pond and do not have any worms at the moment). The pond remains warm year round as it is located in the caribbean.

NO. And the angels would get the parasites as well. I think the parasite you are speaking of is an anchorworm (about 1/2", white/clear, small hooks on the fish end and 2 "ears" on the free end: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Danchorworm%2B%26fr%3Dyfp-t-501%26toggle%3D1%26cop%3Dmss%26ei%3DUTF-8&w=405&h=257&imgurl=www.koivet.com%2Fimages%2Fgf_lern.gif&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.koivet.com%2Fhtml%2Farticles%2Farticles_print.php%3Farticle_id%3D167&size=75.8kB&name=gf_lern.gif&p=anchorworm&type=gif&no=7&tt=11&oid=11d27a1b71b777d8&ei=UTF-8 ). These aren't really worms at all, but a crustacean. I've treated this in aquaria with copper sulfate, but I wouldn't recommend that for a pond.

I looked up the parasite I think you are talking about, and here's what I found: http://www.thepondprofessor.com/pondhealth/anchor_worm.htm.
You might give salt a try if you have an artificial pond. Otherwise, you'd almost have to net the fish out and treat them in a tank. This wouldn't prevent them from getting the parasite again, though, because only one life stage attaches to the fish. The eggs and larvae are free swimming (in the water): http://www.thatfishshop.com/health/anchor_worm.htm.

You could try to find out how long they can survive without a host, and keep any fish out of the pond for that length of time, but that's still not a guarantee it won't reoccur.

Well, the rules are, koi and goldfish are not community fish. They cannot be kept with any fish other than koi and goldfish. They have different water requirements, not only in temperatures, but in ph levels and other water parameters. I also really doubt that the koi or comet would ever allow the angelfish to come up and pick at it, even if the angelfish would. All the goldfish would see is aggression. If your koi or comet have "worms" then you need to make sure that the water is kept at its proper parameters to keep it healthy. Healthy water, healthy fish. But, if your fish get "worms," salt dips and medication would be better. My concern is that, if the pond water is warm enough for an angelfish, it is too warm for a koi or comet. Check your water temperature. Ideally, for koi and goldfish it should be at 72 degrees, but it really shouldn't get above 80 degrees. You may need to put some type of tent, umbrella or covering over it if it's getting too warm.

They cannot be kept in a fish bowl. No fish can live long in one. But koi and angelfish are a bit more demanding in water quality and wouldn't last long at all. I'd recommend a 50 gallon for angel fish and much larger for koi. EDIT: I really recommend going to local fish stores and trying to find local aquariast groups. They can give you good advice and they will love to show off their aquariums so that you can get a better idea as to your options. They can also help you in finding ways to do things on a budget if that is a concern (this can be a very expensive hobby).

no. don't buy angel just to pick off hook worms. And don't put them together. Kois & goldfish are cold water fish and angels are topicial fish.
