Are you in Australia? pass see a doctor. If no longer, that's amazingly complicated to declare no remember if the chew is risky. there are a number of diverse spider species around the realm lots of that are small and black. maximum bites are risk loose and at maximum you would be wanting a bump like a wasp sting. some are greater poisonous. Watch the chew heavily, and if something greater happens than a reddish bump that itches or hurts slightly, then pass to a wellness center. Is the spider nevertheless around? attempt to capture it in case you could or make a image, this could help. @ Mysteryman: Ohhh, spiders are animals we are able to completely do no longer stay without. they are vast insect eaters and we would just about drown in flies, mosquitoes and different little pesky bugs if it weren't for spiders.

I don't know what kind of spider it was, but let me give you some information about spiders and their bites.

First, all spiders are venomous. It's how they kill their prey. Luckily, most don't have enough, or strong enough venom to have much more affect than a bee sting, unless you are allergic to the proteins in the venom (and if you're typing questions on the computer, I'm guessing this wasn't the case; you'd be in anaphylactic shock instead).

Here are links to some medical advice on how to relieve what discomfort you have and what things you shouldn't do:
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/black_widow_spider_bite/article_em.htm
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000033.htm

Keep an eye on the bite and get medical attention if you notice the center area of the bite turning a dark (brown/black) color.

Get straight to the doctor and get it checked out!

There are few species of spider in the UK that bite, but there are some... See the website I have referenced below... Although a bite may not be harmful to yourself it may be to your cats so I would keep them out of the house as much as possible until the insect is found...

Good Luck, hope it's nothing serious xx

We have one spider in this country that bites, called a Field Spider, and it does fit the description , sometimes it as a bit of colour on its shell.
Don't worry it won't kill you, it's no different from a normal insect bite.

Britian does not have any native spiders that fit that discription, and you might get a better response if you put this question in the insect section, not the reptile section.

Each spider has a poison but not each poison is dangerous for your life. Catch it if you care for cats and lock it in a small box and go with it to a doctor.

Go get checked by your GP, doesn't sound much like a spider if it has a hard shell.

A spider is not a reptile....try the insect or spider section..

If you can, try to catch it. It'll make it much easier to identify, and to treat any ailments it may give you.
Contact London Zoo and ask to speak to someone in BUGS. they're very knowledgeable and should be able to help you.
