My mum is giving my bird away today. She came home last night and told me that she had found a home for him. I have had him a good 8 years and have become more busy in my life. I am 19yrs old, and admit i dont have as much time for him as I use to. But is it not wrong that she goes out and finds a new home for him without discussing it with me first or should i be grateful someone can spend more time with him?? He will be gone when I get home from work.... ( p.s I also got 2 cats in the last 12mths that would luv to eat him up for supper so havent been able to get him out of his cage - its not out of neglect!)

I am considering getting a dog that is one year old. He has been an outdoor dog all his life and is intact. What is the best way to potty train an adult dog and teach him to mark his territory outside and not in my house?

Recently I received a 7 week old labrador retriever.
Do I need to brush her teeth? If so, then how do you brush them?
Are there any alternatives to brushing?
Is it absolutely necessary to brush them when they're adults?
Help is gladly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

We are getting a new puppy in a few weeks (as soon as she can leave her mother). She is a Pomeranian and is Black and white. What would be a good name for her? :)

She is peeing out of the box and there is a little blood in the urine. Think she has a bladder infection. Approximately how much will it cost for vet visit and meds, and yearly shots?

I've had 4 hamster and none have lived longer than 3 months. I can't figure out what it is. The one's I have had, lived in "hamster mansions" with all the tubes and little rooms and everything, so there was lot's of room for them. I gave them the proper food, and proper water. I was sure I looked after them, but they all died. My first one died within the first month of having it. I always completely cleaned the cage before I got another one after one died, and I even got a new one when I bought another hamster after the third one died.

I thought it may be the heating or A/C being too high for them, but I don't see how that could affect them that much. I have always got them from the same pet store (except the 4th one) so maybe that has something to do with it?

Ive been purchasing these white chew bones for my puppy. He's a pom, about 5months old now. He enjoys it very much but just this very moment i just saw a whole tooth fell off. Is he still too young and his teeth are still weak? Or Should I stop giving him the bone and wait til he gets a bit older, maybe his teeth will get stronger? Or not give it to him at all?

5 weeks ago I adopted a 5 year old female dog that was advertised on Craigslist as "Free to a good home." The owner claimed he couldn't keep the dog because of his family. According to him the dog barked, not excessively - and only when a stranger approached the house - but it was waking his newborn baby up.

I adopted the dog. Fastforward one month. The previous owner told me said dog was housebroke, the dog actually drops turds throughout the house and when I tried crate training the dog made such an unbelievable noise that my neighbors got upset (my neighbors are gnereally VERY tolerant).

Today, I was crouching on teh floor near to the dog, telling her to "come" (she knows no commands at all and I am trying to teach her). She suddenly growled and bared her teeth. She did this two more times and then ran off to another room

Then she hopped onto teh sofa. I walked past the sofa and she bared her teeth and lunged at me and tried to bite. I ran away.

I have a 6 year old German Sheppard male dog. He has always been very healthy weighing in around 90 pounds. He is very acitive. But for the last six months his back hips seem to bother him the next day after he has gone for a long run or been at the park. He tries to jump up on the bed and he cant he just yelps really loud. I took him to the vet the third time it happened and the vet said it was early hip dysplasia and recamended glucosymine and chondritin pills, these dont seem to be helping much is there any thing else or could it be more serious and develope that quickly in a matter of six months when he never showed any signs before. If I take him back to take xrays dose the dog have to be put to sleep? Any info would help.

I have a kitten that was abandoned when the person across the street from me moved out. I have a pit bull who will kill it if he gets a hold of it. I need to find it a good home. I'm in S FL. (I've tried the shelters & put up posters in places where I know the people before you suggest that.) Ad in the paper is out of the question, because we have a lot of cruel people here.

I just got a 9 week old shih tzu puppy about a week ago. He is the sweetest baby and he has already learned to use his puppy pads. The only thing is he will not leave me alone!! I can't even go to the bathroom without him crying like a maniac. I feel bad leaving him alone but i am eventually going to have to leave him at home sometimes (right now he comes with me everywhere i go/ 24 hours a day). He doesn't care to be left with other people if im gone but he just doesnt want to be alone. I understand he is a puppy but how do i teach him that i will come back, that im not abandoning him? Should i just leave him and let him cry? or is he to young to be left alone? Another thing is he wont sleep in his bed. He will cry until i let him go on my bed and sleep with him. He is just scared to have me out of sight!! PLEASE HELP!! what do i do??

A week ago my cat got out all day long, it was her first time going out and she did not come back until that night. Now she sits next to the door crying to go out. I am not going to let her out, I live in an apartment complex and it is not safe.

Also she has been very annoying since the day she went out, she opens cabinets and knocks things down, she never did this until that day.

Please help me she is being so annoying with the constant meowing and crying to go outside.

I have a neighbor who has two huge, gorgeous german sheppard dogs, and a third one who is there alot that belongs to his gf...They are beautiful, intelligent dogs, which is more then i can say for the owner, he has had these dogs for a couple years maybe 3 and weve had no REAL problems but lately they have been coming over and killing my rabbits..they have killed 7 so far and tore up a couple pens, I have checked with law enforcement and i do have the legal right to shoot the dogs but i do NOT want to do this its not the dogs fault its going on as the owner is putting them in danger, i have called him SEVERAL times and asked him to contain his dogs only at night... i never asked him to pen them up all the time they dont bother anything of a day and i dont care if they are around then. The sheriff has spoken with him and he has paid for one of the rabbits ( my purebred brittish giant female) I have tried and tried to get him to keep them home at night to no avail...
