There are many names to choose from. I recent received a dog from the local pound who was caught in a electric fence and received at least 7,000 volts of electricity before she got loose. Because of her situation, sparky seemed an appropriate name.
Colorings is another way to name animals. Eyes are very unique to each animal and person, so if they have an eye colour that is a light brown or amber, try whiskey or brandy. I've had dogs with both names.
If there is a certain movie or book you love name your dog after one of the characers.
Or if you would like to seem intelligent and give your dog some extra spunk, give them a historic name. When i was little, my family kept goats as pets. Two of them were named Aristotle and Socrates.
Or if your pet as a acertain personality, name them in honor of it.
But each of these names need to stick and fit your pet, try out a few to where it leads you.

When I got a puppy a few months ago, it took me 3 weeks to name her. You need to get the feel of the dog and it's personality. At least I did and I do not regret waiting to name her.

go to babynames.com. You can search by meaning, or whatever to get a name. They have names from all different countries, so you can get something unique.

I had a bird named "Keiko" -means Blessing
I have a wolfdog named "Maverick" - means wildly independant.

You can search however you need to, and you might come up with something unique!

I might have a good name for the new pup but you might want to tell me what color and kind of pup it is. Then I might be able to name it for you. Another idea is to put a pic beside your question.
