Is it safe to use.....?

Question

i was told by some one that vinegar kills fleas on cats and dogs and around the home, is this a safe way to do the trick.

please can i have some feedback

it doesn't kill fleas, nor do any of the other home remedies. The only way to get rid of a flea infestation uin your home is to get some proper flea treatment from the vet and use it once a month or as prescribed. 80% of fleas actually live in the carpet. furniture, bedding, cracks in the woodwork etc, so even if vinegar killed the other 20% of fleas actually on the animal at the time, it won't do anything about the fleas, eggs and larvae in your home which will just reinfest the cat afterwards.

Vinegar is not going to hurt your Cat, But its not going to kill fleas either..We make an Earwash at the Shelter from equal parts of Vinegar and Alcohol..This is only used to clean animals ears that are having NO ear Proplems Though..Vinegear is a Good Odor Neutrliizer to use on your pet when bathing It will Cut Nasty Smells Like Skunk Spray and Such...Use A Top Spot Product From the Vet From Your Vet..Frontline Plus Ect..And A Spray in Your House..Also remember to Spray Outside Where your Pets Hang Out or Go Potty...Thats Where They Pick Alot Of The Little Buggars Up!

I recommend that you use a proper product like frontline. Ok it's expensive but in the long run it's much better for you and your cat. Not only does it kill the live fleas but also the larvae and the eggs.
Not sure about vinegare but chances are not only will it not work but your house will smell like a chip shop!

I don't know about vinegar, but in your home, this will work. Buy some lemon Joy or Dawn ( dishwashing liquid), Mix it with a little water. Place this in a shallow pan ( cookie sheet). Make the room dark, except for one very bright light right over the pan. The fleas are attracted to the light, and fall into the pan. There's something in the liquid that puts an end to the little boogers. A good time to do this is at night when your home is dark anyway. When you go to work, close all the windows and leave the light on. You will need to do this about 3-4 days in a row, but it works

I have had cats all my life and have never heard of using vinegar for fleas. My current two are indoor/outdoor cats and I use Frontline from the vets on them. Not cheap but very easy and safe to use - except for the fleas of course!

My vet told me to keep the dish detergent away from my cat because it dries out his skin. I noticed he scratched even after I used the Dawn, but it wasn't because of fleas, it was because his skin was dry. Not good. Just get the real flea stuff from the vet.

I would rather go to the vet and get professional medicine because your pet may be sensitive to it and you will cause him/her skin problems. If vinegar is not good substance for our skin why should it be good for pets, even if they have fleas? I think that the advice is a kind of folk ones.

Hun vinegar is acid would you want to have a bath in acid!!!!!
Go to the vets for the proper stuff or go to your local pet store. Don't use talc either cos that clogs up the pores in their skin and will give you problems in the long run

i wouldn't bother not effective at all, get some frontline either from a chemist or your vets for your dog or cat , and some staykill for around the home lasts for 12 months. i use it myself and i have 3 dogs

i dont think this is good idea get some proper flea stuff no point taking the risk withg ur pet or living with the smell of vingar
