I also have a female short-hair chihuahua and the male will also play with and eat her feces. I have tried putting his nose to the poo and scolding him so he can associate "bad" with poo. I've had him for over a year and have yet to break this disgusting habit. If it's possible for a dog to have ADD then I think he has it because he has always been hard to train.

I own a dwarf hamster, and I can never hold him because he always runs away. I give him food every other day and today when I went to give him food he was moving in the bedding..(normal)
I opened the cage door and he didn't run (not normal)
I petted his back and he moved his head but again didn't run (not normal!)
I picked him up and he was very calm.(not normal)
When i set him in my hand he just sat there.(NOT NORMAL)
I petted his back crying harder than before telling him I was sorry.
I thought my hamster was dieing. He moved his head but that was it. He is still alive but he is not moveing like he use to.
He is in his cage and he live in it by himself. ( It is a critter trail Z )
I'm scared and I can't help but think that its my fault.
I need to know whats wrong with my hamster...Is he dieing or is he just depressed? Please help.

I have a cousin back in Mexico, T.J. to be exact. He runs a very successful taco stand. On my last trip to visit the family, my cousin took me to a warehouse that was filled with dogs. I asked him if it was the mexican dog pound but he laughed at me and told me that he used the dogs for his taco stand. He also told me that it dog was cheaper and sometime free. He said more profits came in this wasy. I was shocked and was felt really bad for the dogs. I do not know if I should tell the authorities because he is my cousin. I know a lot of his customers are white americans and he make alot of money there. If I were to tell I know he would probably go to jail and wont be able to provide for his family. What should I do????

I know I have to teach him on the ground before I even think about hooking him up to a cart, but i tried today (with a halter and two lead ropes-I'm still on the look for a harness) and he didn't seem to want to listen to what I was telling him to do....any suggestions? I know it will take time but any tips will help. Also, does anyone know where I can find a cart and harness thats not terribly expensive?-it doesn't need to be really fancy. Thanks in advance.

I am considering getting a year old dog. He has always been an outdoor dog and is intact. What is the best way to house train him and teach him to mark his territory outside and not in my house? His owner says he is very smart and should learn quickly.

I need all the advice I can get. I own a 5 year old female Border Collie named Shadow, and a 1 year old female Australian Shepherd named Dakota. I have just adopted an 8 week old kitten I named Sadie. Dakota seems to be adjusting quite well, as is Sadie to her. However, Shadow (who is THE most neurotic dog EVER) cannot be controlled. She whines and pokes Sadie (I'm assuming her hearding instinct?) and cannot even eat when she's out and about. It's only been 2 days and I'm afraid she will do what she has done with just about every other cat we've had, and just never get over it. Has anyone encountered this before, with such a stubborn (and by that I mean too-smart-for-her-own-good) breed of dog?? Maybe a website I can consult?? Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!

I am traveling to Barbados to study abroad for a semester in the fall. I am staying with a family while I am there and I was wondering what process I would have to take to be able to bring her with me and what my cost would be.

I understand why some one would pay big money for a dog for a specific purpose but why would you pay a large sum of money for a dog that is going to be strictly a pet. If you buy a dog at a petstore all you have is papers but no background beyond what the papers say, if you want a breed known for being docile then study your dog breeds and know what your getting. If you want a dog that fits your image then buy a T-shirt or get a non living accessory because you shouldnt own a dog anyway.

Hi everybody,

We have a 5-month old kitten that just went in for a neuter surgery today. He got to the vet's in the early morning and got back in the afternoon. Ever since, he has been confined to the indoors.

He actually lives in an outdoor porch that has a pet door on it so he can go in and out whenever he likes. However, the vet has told us to lock the pet door so he can only stay inside for the next few days. This is so that he doesn't become too active and accidentally screw up the stitching.

BUT, since coming back from the surgery, our kitten has taken a liking to putting his paws in the water bowl and splashing around the water all over the floor! He has done it twice, and it is becoming very frustrating because we have insulation underneath that might become damaged.

Do any of you have any suggestions to help with our kitten problem? Please help before my mom decides to kick the poor kitten out of the house!!!

THanks all..

I need to know what I can do to kill and prevent the larvae in my grass. We have been very bad on picking her poop up everyday. Maybe we will do it 1x a wk. We are concerned becasue I just found out she has hookworm and just started the meds but was told to pick up each stool. (Which is very hard to do when it's dark outside!) Anyways, I HEARD THAT THEY CAN STAY IN THE GRASS AND DIRT! She can still get infected. She is on and has been on heartguard forever. Need help? Live in Chicago suburbs. Not a good time to try and pickup poop in a very large backyard either. She won't go for walks and poop either.

My dog chewed and jumped against the chain link fence and broke the wire holding it to the metal poles. She got out and my husband found her jumping against our kids rabbits hutch. He put her back in the fence and fixed it, but he said the rabbit has layed down on its side and wouldn't do anything but lift its head. He decided to leave it alone for a little bit, thinking it was just really scared and needed to a chance to calm down. When I came home a little bit later, I went to check on it and it was dead. This rabbit was healthy before this happened and my husband thinks it had a heart attack from being so scared. I never heard of a rabbit having a heart attack. Is this possible?

My cat has liver failure. Her sister just started actually leaking urine ( alot ) & shaking and not eating. They are both about 3 years old. My cat with liver failure was fat , quit eating ( supposedly ) & fat clogged her liver. NOW her sister ( cat ) is sick suddenly as well. What is going on with my animals ?! I just spent 350 on the liver failure cat & the vet wants to put a feeding tube surgically into her neck tomorrow! I cant afford that and now if I take her sister in the vet is gonna think im a whacko. I have 2 very sick cats all at once. I am so confused & theres nothing on the net about cats leaking pee and shaking other than kidney failure. I find it hard to believe in the same week that one cats liver failed and the other cats kidneys shut down. ACK !! HELP!!?? any advice other than putting them to sleep?! .........

We have recently added a new cat to our household and my old female has begun peeing anywhere. This is totally out of her character. Could she be going into a mock-heet, though she's been fixed?
