I know that certain things that people eat are NOT good for dogs. But the ingredients in dog's food has got to come from somewhere and I would prefer I KNEW where it all comes from...most of which can be obtained by ANYBODY I would imagine! I am pretty sure I can get around using horse hooves and still feed my dogs something that is safe and nutritious! Sorry~just pre-fighting off the naysayers who would have been bound to deride me for feeding my dog something it shouldn't be eating because I certainly wouldn't waste my time cooking for my dog if I was making it something that was worse for it than the food I can buy in less than 2 min. at the store! THANKS FOR THE ADVICE!!!!!!

I have a Jack Russell, she is 2. She keeps peeing on the floor over night. She knows she has done wrong but she still does it. She stopped for about 2 months (don’t know why), but since I got back off my hols she has started doing it again. I have tried everything! Please help!

My puppy was sick and we took him to the vet - he seems to have gotten better, but he's still not playing and running around like he usually does. How many days will it take for him to regain his strength and be normal?? Also - he was the smallest out of the litter, does that mean he's going to be a sickly dog??

He jumps on me or whoever any chance he gets. he is extremely friendly and gets overly excited when he see's me or a visitor. I can walk away for 1 minute and when i returnn he acts like i've been gone for days. Help!!

I recently decided to get a lovebird. I've wanted a pet bird for a while now and I found an add in the paper and I went and got it. The bird isn't very people friendly. I've never had a bird before. Is there a way to get the bird to adjust to me? How do I do it? The bird is around 4 months old, but I don't know anything else about it. Also, how do you know if it's male or female?

My cat's meow has totally changed in the last couple days. He sounds like some sort of stray alley cat now. He's an older cat, about three 3yrs so I know it's not due to growth. He has always been a chewer (chews on almost everything) since he was a kitten... So maybe dental? He seems perfectly healthy and playful othwerwise....any ideas?

constantly. I have been giving him water several times a day. But if I leave it out he won't stop drinking it. My mom gave him a bath and when she placed him in the water he wouldn't stop drinking it. I let him outside he did his business and then ater I brought him in he went again in 20 minutes. So now I cut him down to several drinks a day but not a whole bowl. He seems like he is more thirtly. I cut out his drinks after 10 and place him in his cage and let him out at 6 a.m. He holds all night. Anyone have had this problem and any suggestions welcomed. How much should he be drinking in a full day. He weighs about 20 pounds.

We have a mature (but not quite elderly) female canary who used to have a female companion but she died a couple of years ago. I worry that she might be lonely but I'm not sure whether or not it would be a good idea to get another companion for her. If anyone knows from experience, should I get another canary?

We are going to my parents for Christmas and are bringing our two cats. My parents have a cat also and just in the last week their cat has become sick. She's lethargic and vomiting. I've asked them to bring her to the vet but they haven't yet. My question is this: Will my cats be ok if their cat is sick? Could it be something that their cat could pass on to mine? He wants to breed her when she is older. Is there anything that the vet can give her, to calm her down, or would that be mean? She is an indoor kitty with two other spaded cats so there is no danger of her becoming pregnant, but he thinks she in in much stress over this. Has anyone had a situation like this with a kitten?

I just read PetLover's questions about the irrelevant American answers on here.

Now in my opinion, regardless of how you feel, wouldn't it have been better to just move on to another forum rather then slam another country's people?

I can't believe I let this get to me like this, but it really bothers me that people can be that ignorant and crude.

Futhermore, that should have been a question posted in the Yahoo Answers section, not Dog (as should this one, but no one would know what I was talking about if I posted this there).

Is it me? Or did this person REALLY cross the line by posting that?
