I was wondering what anyone thought caused them to just well snap? and what do you think can be done to help it?

As a science teacher, I would suspect a brain parasite, tumor, or other brain dysfunction. My husband's theory is that they finally get so sick of human beings and they way they are treated that they finally take revenge. Supposedly an elephant never forgets! Who knows? They might be smarter than we think.

I think the main thing is mistreatment by humans. Until recently
people had some pretty mean and cruel ways to train and handle elephants. Also the way they were captured (their mothers killed) and shipped to another country. And remember, an elephant never forgets!
