Just idly curious, but not really interested in discussions on snake keeping in general so please stay on topic. I wonder why it seems more heinous to feed another snake to a snake than to feed the little furry mouse....although I am sure the mouse would have a different point of view. It does seem like an efficient solution to dealing with overpopulation, culling, etc. if you breed snakes. I was just wondering what reptile keepers thoughts were on the topic.

my friend reckons he had a pet rat that could play a homemade small asiatic nose-flute with some kind of amplification. i dont believe him, but it got me thinking would it be possible for any other type of animal to play a musical instrument?

What can you expect if you were to breed a female white German Shepherd with a male Black and tan German Shepherd?
Any idea what the puppies might look like?

The vet (who I've trusted) said that he wouldn't go under the anasthesia, therefore got caught on something & ripped a couple of his back nails. I don't understand how this can happen? What do I do. I feel terrible like I should have never even bothered having the neutering done. Am I to blame for trusting the vet? Will his nails grow back? Will the cat resent me now? Please help!! I really don't think the vet or assistant would ever harm an animal, esp. since she saved my first cat years ago. Could this have really been a complete accident- esp. since the cat is restless/ a little aggressive to begin with? Will the cat be able to forget this trauma?

I have a cat working on 3 years old. He scratches my couch only, but is just destroying it. I will not move on my decision to not de-claw him as I deem in inhumane. Any ideas or advice on deterring him from the couch?

My fish is opening then really big like an inch away from the body. The other thing is he is keeping them open for as long as a minute, is this normal?

We have a burmese kitten that is 7 months old. I noticed the other day that it squints in one eye. Also this eye doesn't look as black as the other and reflects light. What could it be?

My hubby and I are experienced pet people, but this is a toughie. We have several cats and 2 St. Bernards, and want to adopt an adult Bengal cat. How can we make this easier? The cat is at a shelter now, because his last owner fed him kibble and now he has irritable bowel -- his foster mom says he's doing great on a raw diet. He's also declawed -- which may actually make it easier to integrate him into our 'family'. I don't want him to hurt any of our 'babies', but I also don't want to bring him home and then find out it's impossible to integrate them. Any ideas?

I don't feel like having overly excitable people preach too me, I just want advice. I bought a 4 month olf Brussells Griffon female puppy home and she has been a terror since she got home. We bought her so our daughter could have a puppy to grow up with but the puppy just pees and poos everywhere. (I tried the pads) rips up everything she can find, jumps all over the baby, eats the cats food and steals the babies toys. We are trying to crate train her while we are away at work and that also isnt working out. I realize potty training may take some time but how long? The dog bugs the hell out of me but I think she deserves a chance. My husband is at his wits end and wants to sell her because she keeps finding papertowel and tearing it up all over the floor or stealing everything off of the table. She even ate a 20.00 bill. What can I do? Will obedience training work? We take her out for walks during the day because we dont have a patio are at our apartment.

Suggestions?

My dog is almost 2 years old and has a problem with chewing on things (normally mine). This is a problem even when we are at home.

She also likes to pull the table cloth off the table when we aren't home. I don't want to get rid of her but she is driving me crazy. Please help!!!!

I've found one chart but trying to figure it out is ridiculous!!! We have been weighing them since day one and they are now almost 5 weeks old - we stopped weighing them when they were 1 month.

I while back I took care of many Macaws, One being a blue Hycnith. I really thought it had a great personality. I know they are an expensive bird. What is a bird with great personality? And not sooo expensive.

I am looking to buy a collar for my aunts dog. She is a blue-healer with black lab, but she is still a puppy. Should I buy this size collar for her? If not, what size should I get her?

Just after we got our kitten spayed, we let her outside. When she was nig enough to jump over the fence, we removed the litter tray and have had no accidents luckily.
However, she has got into the habit of pooing all round our garden and it's a real pain, especially as I'm pregnant and should avoid dealing with it.
Does anyone know how we can deter her from doing this without making her or our older cat feel unwelcome in the garden?

Cheers all.
