This summer, I adopted a 2.5 yr old cat from a lady. The cat has never been around other cats (since 8 weeks old). I have no plans on getting another cat at the moment, but I was wondering if maybe I should get him a companion later? Would he react badly to another cat since he's used to being on his own? He's an orange tabby, but later on, I want to get a pure black cat (I'm not a Halloween freak... I just love black cats. I would have gotten one, but I have a black cat back home... long story... and I didn't want it to seem like i was trying to replace him). Anyhoot, if you've adopted an older kitty in a similar situation yet adopted another cat, how did the cat react? Would it be safe to get a companion for Marcus later on?

she is about 4 years old - german sheppard mix. last night, she started throwing up a little, and she got so weak she couldn't even stand up. we're thinking that maybe she ate something she shouldn't have, but she is just dripping blood from her rectum. does anyone have any idea what's wrong with her?

I have a 4 month old kitten that plays a lot. His favorite game is to run into my kitchen, slide full force into the mini blinds and bang into the glass window. After doing this he runs the length of the window doing this gripey yakky meow over and over and over like he's yelling or fussing at something. He seems to be enjoying himself and playing. He just talks a lot. Why would one cat be more vocal than the other one I have?

I really like Kangaroos and wallabies, is it possible to get one as a pet? Obviously they require a lot of land, but i can get that. Do you need a special license? If this isn't possible, where can you adopt or sponsor one?

My little dog Stay refuses to leave the living room to eat. I call him and call him, "COME STAY! COME STAY! but he just sits there.

I don't want to feed him in the living room because it's a white carpet, but the little guy hasn't moved for weeks and is getting really thin.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Callie is an active fun loving cat who seems to be healthy in everyway, good eating, grooming, playing etc. but suddenly started drooling no pain no plants around no chemicals. But she will chew just about anything. Wonder if a 2 yr old cat could be cutting teeth or what? Going to call vet in morning.

My dog does not go to the bathroom in my house or my yard. He will hold it and hold it until he is taken for a walk. I have tried bringing other dogs over to go to the bathroom in my yard, I have brought some of my dogs feces home with me to put in my yard but nothing has worked. There has been about 5 times he has gone pee in the yard and each time I praised him and gave him a treat. He has never gone poo in my yard and half the time wont leave the patio. I need help! I am expecting my first child in the spring and we wont be able to walk him very often after the baby is born.
Background info: my dog is two years old and I adopted him this last July from the humane society. He has seperation anxiety and cant be left alone in the house. He is smart, well behaved but may have spent a lot of time in crates or kennels.

When she is playing (or 4 no reason) w/ my husband she humps my husbands arms or legs 2 or more times a week. She humps he more than me. It's soo funny. A few times she has humped my right arm. I didn't know what to do besides laugh & push she back. We want to get her fixed but were told not till she is a yr old. Y does she hump us anyway? How do I know when she goes in heat?

i have a nine year old poodle mix. we shower him with attention but he's getting lonley for some canine companionship. what breed of dog gets best along with other dogs? perferably a dog as small or smaller than poodle.

and does gender, age, and size matter? i've noticed he gets along better with female dogs. he gets along with male dogs occasionaly. i don't know about age or size. i've seen him play nicely my aunt's 11 year old yorkie and my friend's 10 month old collie.

i'm currently eyeing an 18 month old lhasa apso mix (female) and a 3 year old poodle mix (male). both at local shelters, but i do want my dog to make the final decision. anyways, any adivice is greatly appreciated.

I have a male Cardinal that keeps flying into my window. It must see its reflection and think it's defending its territory. I have tried closing the curtains, taping up a giant picture of an owl and scaring it away. Still, for the past couple of years, every day it smacks its head into the window over and over again. I don't want to kill it (I'm surprised it hasn't killed itself). Any ideas?

Like I said he pukes up his cat food is this normal? He is about 2 years old. I don't know what kind of cat he is but I think it is called a tiger cat. He eats Dad's Original cat food. His puke just looks like chewed up cat food. He poops normal and he is not allowed outdoors.
