When she is playing (or 4 no reason) w/ my husband she humps my husbands arms or legs 2 or more times a week. She humps he more than me. It's soo funny. A few times she has humped my right arm. I didn't know what to do besides laugh & push she back. We want to get her fixed but were told not till she is a yr old. Y does she hump us anyway? How do I know when she goes in heat?

Humping at any time other than heat is uaually a sign of affection. It can be seen as grose, but i wouldn't take it as a bad thing. it just means she loves you very much.
A vet will fix your dog at 6 months, but i would wait till about 8, But you should know that that may not, and probably won't stop the humping.
If you want to figure out when your dog is in heat you will see blood comming from her vulva. also when she is ready to breed the meer tough of the base of her tail will raise her tail in rediness. She'll also become more agressive towards other dogs.
Ever need any more information let me know.
Hope this answers your questions.
Merry Christmas.

who told you that you had to wait a yr to get her fixed ? I always assumed that the average is 6 months i have never heard waiting a yr to fix any dog. Please check with some vets in your area sounds like she needs to be fixed now. How would you feel if she humped one of your visitors to your home ? I for one would be very embarassed if my dog humped someone who was a guest in my home. not being mean just truthfull. good luck and god bless and happy holidays.

When dogs hump, unless in season, or when detecting scent of another is season, it is not a sexual act, but more often just a way of demonstrating excitement.. when it happens, just gently push her away, and give a gentle rebuke..such as 'huh-uh'..and distract her..Spaying won't make a difference, but maturity will likely help..

Get her spayed ASAP - Do not wait to for anything. They can be spayed as early as six weeks of age.

Puppies will hump to see if they can get away with dominating you. They will see how far they can go just like a kid.
