The classification in the Order Carnivora does not necessarily mean that a dog's diet must be restricted to meat; unlike an obligate carnivore, such as the cat family with its shorter small intestine, a dog is dependent on neither meat-specific protein nor a very high level of protein in order to fulfill its basic dietary requirements. Dogs are able to healthily digest a variety of foods including vegetables and grains, and in fact can consume a large proportion of these in their diet. Wild canines not only eat available plants to obtain essential amino acids, but also obtain nutrients from vegetable matter from the stomach and intestinal contents of their herbivorous prey, which they usually consume. Domestic dogs can survive healthily on a reasonable and carefully designed vegetarian diet, particularly if eggs and milk products are included. Some sources suggest that a dog fed on a strict vegetarian diet may develop dilated cardiomyopathy since it lacks L-carnitine, [12] however, maintaining a balanced diet is also a factor since L-carnitine is found naturally in many nuts, seeds, beans, vegetables, fruits and whole grains.

Dogs are not Carnivorous, they are omnivores - they eat meat, veggies & fruit.
Providing a diet of only meat is very damaging to a dog.

Cats actually eat meat and vegetables as well. But, Dogs eat everything they decide to. I have several cats and dogs on my farm. Both like a variety of meat vegetables and starches. If you wish to know what kinds are prefered, grab a bag of the food your animal likes most and read the component lables. It will dive you a detaled list of everything that is in the food.
hope this helps you out, Merry Christmas.

No. In fact, dogs are less dependable on meat than cats. A wide range of foods will keep him healthy. Proteins, composed of many amino acids, can derive from vegetables as well as animals. Vegetable proteins lack some essential amino acids that must be present in the diet, otherwise some deficiencies could arise. Proteins are necessary for growing, and also have other specific functions, including a major part in the cellular membranes of the body. They are also needed to cure a tissue. Carbon hydrates in diets are specially used to satisfy the energetic needs of the body, and frequently are found in the shape of flour, rice or bread crackers. The third great group of feeding articles is that of grease, a high concentrated source of energy. In fact, the excess of carbon hydrates in the body is stored as grease, which can be later transformed into an isolator against cold, and protecting vital organs like the kidneys. There's an essential grease acid, known as linoleum acid that should be included in the diet. Vitamins and minerals, though in small measures, are fundamental for the dog's welfare. Vitamin D, for example, controls the calcium reserves of the body, and this mineral, along with phosphorus, is crucial to keep healthy bones.

No. Feeding meat only can cause health problems for them later in life. To much protein can affect the liver and kidney functions. Make them work to hard to process the protein.
That is why kidney failure in dog and cats are so high. We feed low quality food that has and excess of protein and other stuff(like to many calories increases the chances of your dog being fat) So feed a balanced diet for a dog! make sue you buy the proper life stage for you dog/cat puppy, kitten, adult, senior.
