maybe your cats are mutes?

I wish I had that problem. My kitten won't shut up! All day and all night. Meow meow meow meow meow meow. It's driving me crazy!

I always thought my older cat was chatty, but nothing compared to this kitten. My older cat just lets me know when the food or water needs to be refilled, says hello when I get home, let's me know when the litter box needs to be emptied; and he has a special meow when he can't find you in the house, so you have to go "I'm in here" and he finds you and says "Hi, I just woke up from a nap and didn't know where everybody was" and he acts bashful about it.

Our middle cat let's us know when he's taken a big crap in the litter box and we have to go "yes, we know you took a big s**t, now hush up!" and he shuts up. Otherwise he just says "hi!" when you come home and that's it. And he sounds like a fairy. He has a really girly meow.

I don't know, but our 7 year male old cat, who had been the beta cat to our older female cat for his entire life never meowed until after our older cat died. Now, he meows a lot. Since you found them when they were so young, maybe they never had another cat to teach them to meow. We adopted our male cat when he was little from the animal shelter, so the situations could be similar, but I have no idea why, after 7 years of not meowing, he started after his big sister died.

Good luck with the kittens, and way to go with adopting them!!

Cats can stand having a new owner, and are not uncomfortable with strangers. But they are uncomfortable with new surroundings. If you had a certain set up for a long time, the cat will get used to it, but the moment you change the set up they cat will freak out. My best bet is to give it a carry case to live in, so they have a place to hide and feel safe, slowly they be more comfortable. Another thing to try is to try hand feeding them instead of putting it into a bowl, that way they have a constant dependency on you allowing the cat to get used to who and how they are fed.

Ferel cats don't meow unless they are in heat. The only other reason why cats meow is to attempt communication with humans because they notice how vocal we are.

Isn't that cute?

Also, like people, some cats are just not "talkative"

not all cats meow as kittens .use to have a cat that never meowed the only time i heard her is when she was having kittens of her own maybe you kittens are content . do they purr alot as this is a sign that he/she is content and theres nothing wrong with it as cats only meow when they want something

They might be a bit shy until they settle down, but cats are like humans in that there are talkative ones, and silent ones, and ones in between.

My older cat was very silent but my kitten talks up a storm. She even mutters to herself while she sleeps, and she's constantly keeping us updated on her whereabouts. It's a good sign that she's doing something she shouldn't be if she's too quiet.
