I know that certain things that people eat are NOT good for dogs. But the ingredients in dog's food has got to come from somewhere and I would prefer I KNEW where it all comes from...most of which can be obtained by ANYBODY I would imagine! I am pretty sure I can get around using horse hooves and still feed my dogs something that is safe and nutritious! Sorry~just pre-fighting off the naysayers who would have been bound to deride me for feeding my dog something it shouldn't be eating because I certainly wouldn't waste my time cooking for my dog if I was making it something that was worse for it than the food I can buy in less than 2 min. at the store! THANKS FOR THE ADVICE!!!!!!

I have 2 small dogs. 1 male Bichon Frise age 6 (COLBIE) and 1 Teacup Chihuahua age 1 (ERIS) so they are both very small dogs so it wouldn't be too hard to cook for them as well!!!

This is something we do or try to do for our dogs at least ones a week.
Buy a form of meat at the store (butcher), stew meat, scraps. Make sure there is a filler such as rice or noodles or whatever...cook this all up. Do not use salt or any kind of spices what so ever.
Remember corn can be fed to some dogs who are not allergic, but corn does not fully digest in the system. They will poop out corn. Our dogs like beans, rice, noodles etc.. One of our dogs likes just about anything (veggies, fruit too!). The pup seams to be liking everything so far. The other two are a little more picky.
I stay away from bacon, way to salty I feel. If I buy chicken for them I boil it so the meat falls off the bones. I use the water too. People have been feeding bones for ages, but I am not comfy feeding these bones to them.
People are people and some feel feeding the dry dog food that is full of crud and sitting on a shelf in a warehouse for who knows how long then sitting in the store for who knows how long then finally being bought taken home and fed to the dog is enough. I do not feel this is good enough...
Shoot our dogs love the horses hoof trimmings lol! If you only have one dog this I would think would be easy, fast and best for your pooch! It takes me a little longer for we have bigger dogs, then more then one.....I feel this is so much better for your dog!!

I do not know one off the top of my head, but there are a lot of human foods that are good for dogs. Lots of veggies, fruits, cooked meat, and other things. Look online to see if you can find more about food that is healthy for dogs and humans too.

Also, a lot of dog food is good for dogs. You just HAVE to do your research! Really good dog food is Purina, Merricks, and Iams. I find these dogs foods are very good, and low in crude fat.

Always, always, always check the dog food bag before you buy it! Look at the ingredients, do they look like something you would want your dog to eat? If so, then try it. See how your dog reacts.

Commercial dog food isn't good for dogs. I feed my Newfoundland all natural food - brown rice, chicken, and chicken broth is his favorite. He is very healthy. He loves it! Sometimes I will make him lamb, which he likes as well. He's very spoiled but what can I say! We don't have kids, just him!
