Hi there. I was just at the vet yesterday and we were contemplating which heartworm tablet to give to our puppy. The two the vet spoke to us about were Intercepter (pill form) AND Frontline Heartguard (chewy form). She said both worked the same and covered round worms. The Intercepter covers everything the Frontline heartguard does INCLUDING hook worm. If your dog is going to be in a woodsy/hilly area, you should get the intercepter - if not, the Frontline Heartguard should be fine. We went with the Frontline. Hope this helps and good luck!!

After I first got my dog a year ago I noticed she had ring worm. I took her to the vet's right away and was very surprised how inexpensive the treatment was. Since I had two dogs I wanted to make sure they both didn't have it so I also bought another treatment for my other dog too. I would definitely go to the vet's for this one.

Not all of them. Ivermectin at the heartworm preventive dose is not strong enough to kill common intestinal parasites but it is available with pyrantel pamoate included (Heartgard Plus, Iverheart Plus, and Triheart plus) to control hookwormsand roundworms.

Depends on the type of heartworm preventative you are giving. Check with your vet to be sure.
