My cat's meow has totally changed in the last couple days. He sounds like some sort of stray alley cat now. He's an older cat, about three 3yrs so I know it's not due to growth. He has always been a chewer (chews on almost everything) since he was a kitten... So maybe dental? He seems perfectly healthy and playful othwerwise....any ideas?

Perhaps your cat has come out of the closet. It could very well be that he is gay, and finally has the confidance to know that you will accept him no matter what. That would explain the voice change. Is he walking with an extra little swish in his step? Looking at decorating magazines? Attracted to black leather? If so, its just that he is gay.

I'd go adopt another gay cat so that your boy has a friend.

Best thing is to take him to vet. You don't want to take any chances.
