I have a 55 gallon with goldfish. It is located in my basement, where the temperature is around 50 -55 degrees. I know goldfish like cold temperatures, but when the water gets around 50 or below, their metabolisms slow down; they think it is winter right?
If they eat while their metabolisms are slow, the can die. I've currently got a heater right now, set at about 72. Is this necessary?

May be a stupid question but I really think there is a cat under my floor.
My 7 month old kitten is always sniffing (there is a very small, short gap which you can see through to under the floor) and hissing at the gap. I have heard very faint meows coming from there but have NO clue how it would get under my house.
I have a smaller kitten (8 weeks) and I am scared that she could get sick if the other cat hasn't had it's shots and everything.
Last month my neighbour asked me if they had seen a lost cat and I am thinking that could be their cat. There isn't anything under my house for it to live on though. Maybe grass?

If there is a cat there, how do I get it out????
Could either of my cats get sick if it is a stray cat????

My girlfriend keeps leaving kittens at the house. I have a 9 foot burmese that I usually let out when I get home from work. I sat him down and talked to him about the kittens and specifically said NOT to eat them when they are playing. He seemed to understand but when the kittens start to run amok he always seems to lose his cool. I am very frustrated with him! I put him in time out but it doesn't seem to work. Can I take him to obedience school with the other animals so he can learn that eating kittens is a no-no?

and when I firsty bought her she was very tame, she still is but I'm afraid to take her out of the cage, I know that when they do that S shape means they feel threatened and they're going to attack, mine does that but sometimes she just looks like she's waiting for me to hold her.. what's the safe and correct way to take her out without scaring her and without hurting her???

and of course the safest way for me to do it?

I have right now a new 3 month old cat Even my little baby cat sits around in this one spot on my couch all day( and he likes corners and boxes a lot)! But eventualy we'll pick him u and snuggle with him. We like to hold him like a baby and when we cuddle with him he doesn't smile or anything he stares at you with his giant eyes. At night he'll sleep in a tower thing and if you ook at it hell stixck his paw(adorable but with razors on the end) out at you all threatning its so hilarious you'd have to see!

We were given 3 chocolate pug puppies and now they need homes for Christmas. How do you know they'll go to loving homes? They look like little bears.

how can you tell if a beta fish is a guy or a girl?

2006-11-21 13:14:48 · 5 answers · asked by clueless 1 in Fish

people, if you're dog is NOT registered and is NOT a PUREBRED than DON'T breed them!!!! spay/neuter ASAP!!! also, if you DON'T have a clue about breeding than you DON'T need to. whether you have a purebred or not. I have a 10 yr. old Purebred beagle with papers and is registered with the AKC but I choose to neuter him because I had no clue about dog breeding and I didn't want the responsibility. why can't people be more like me? there are WAY too many homeless pups/dogs in this world for all you BYB's to be producing more. PLEASE take my advice.

My female cat was a little mean to our male cat who wasn't even 1 year old, and to our other female cat who's black, why? It isn't really our black cat, it's our neighbors, but they don't care about it or feed it, so my mom said it was fine to feed it. So any ideas on why she's mean?

I have two cats, both female. Every time my one cat goes finishes being in heat she is very grouchy. I mean she stops all the rubbing and raising her butt in the air, but she is very ornery. She hisses at me and the other cat, this lasts a couple days, then she is her sweet self again. Why does she act like this? Is this normal?

I have two male, unneutered guinea pigs (Bob and Chip), both about 3-4 years old. Bob sometimes mounts Chip from the back and Chip always squeels (the same squeel as when they're hungry). They have been doing this ever since I got them and I asked the person I got them from if it's normal and she said yes but I want another opinion. The strange thing is that it's always Bob who mounts Chip, never the other way around. I'm guessing that Bob is the more aggressive animal and therefore sort of the dominant male. Also, I noticed that this was always happening when Chip was trying to drink from the water bottle; is it possible that Bob thinks he is invading his territory? I tried moving the water bottle to see if it changes anything.
