Hmm...you have a Burmese python and you consider jokes like this to be funny? I feel sorry for the snake, for it will probably die in your care, be released into the "wild" (also known as suburbia) and eventually killed, or it will hopefully find its way to a reptile rescue. Although you deserve it, it's not in the snake's best interests to bite you, since you'll probably kill it thinking that the snake was being disobedient. Snakes don't think about much of anything, other than food, warmth, and reproducing. To assume they do more is just fooling yourself and putting the snake at risk.

OK, first thing, animals cannot understand what you say. It is not going to do any good telling it not to do something if you have not trained it, and a snake is not trainable. They have an overwhelming prey instinct that they cannot resist and there is no way to stop this from happening without caging either the snake or the kittens when the other is out.

omg duh ... first of all snakes are meat eaters and they will not pass a meal up specially a burm ...lol great eaters love them.. second of all they have no concept of obedience's .. their nature is program in the genes to kill anything they can eat ... they are natural born killers ... third of all snakes dont here they feel vibrations and see heat and movment..so if ur girlfriend is stupid enough to leave kittens at ur house so be it free food..lol we have 2 burms 1-10 foot and the 1-7.5 foot and the 10 foot eats 4-5lb rabbits 1 every 2 weeks.. SO tell ur girlfriend if see want to keep these kittens a live to keep them away from ur house ...lol

The real issue is why you are letting your 9 foot python out around kittens when you are not home...

Even though he may act like he completely understands you he probably doesn't. I'm not sure if there are obedience classes. But if I was your girlfriend I would never leave my kittens there again.

contained in the wild snakes devour rodents and small animals. they have even been properly-known to devour small deer. of direction the snake does no longer see the kitten as a puppy, very few extra livebait. im sorry to take heed to about the kittens.

Snakes are different to train than dogs or cats. My suggestion is just don't let him out while the kittens are visiting.

I don't blame the poor snake. PYTHONS WILL EAT ANYTHING THAT LOOK TO THEM LIKE FOOD, ITS INSTINCT!!!
Pythons also don't understand human language unless they are taught from a young age like dogs. So if you feed him mice and rabbits and animals that are furry, then he will think that the kittens are food also!
