most cats will actually leave pet birds alone after they are established as a member of the family, and depending on what kind of bird you want, if they get in a fight, in most cases i give the bird the odds, my 3 cats are scared to death of my conure

Yes but as I've said many times do your research. When I first got my bird I only let him out of the cage in a closed room and never left him alone. Always demonstrate to the cat when he comes near the cage that the bird is a no no.
Although after the bird grabbed the cats paw when he put it on the cage he seems to stay away from the bird even when out. However its a cats nature to go after moving things so spend equal private time with both and it will be fine. Be aware that birds can be loud and messy.

If you are going to get a cat and birds be very care full. I once and a cat and 2 birds and always kept them as far apart as possible and about a year or so later of having both i left and came back hours later to one of my birds dead right when i opened the and the other one destroyed by the cat. I would not suggest getting both but if you do don't get attached to the birds cause you never know when they might get attacked.

Yes. Just make sure to keep the bird in a cage well out of the way. Get a small bird, and don't get a large parrot. They need company and exercise and it can be hard to manage the two together.

if you like. I would't suggest if your cat knows how to open the bird cage or have you bird cageless inside the house.

It shouldn't be a problem, as long as you have the time to devote to both.
