he licks it all the time and the door is slimey.we tell him no but he dont listen.

I only have a couple of suggestions:
Spray the door with a product called dog stop.
Make really loud and gruff disturbing noises when he licks the door

Try putting bitters or lemon juice on the door.

My dog licks the coffee table after I clean it with the berry scented Windex, but she stops when I yell at her.
Maybe he is attracted to the cleaner you use like mine is.
