Hello! I've always wanted a Chihuahua, and with recent changes in my life, need/want a companion. My problem is that I live in a small apartment and work the "night" shift - from 7pm till 3am. This means I wake up around 2pm, have 4 hours then leave for work at 6pm, get home around 3:30am, then have 2.5 more hours of awake time and go to sleep at 6am.
Is this enough time for/fair to a dog? I can wake up and play with it/love it/walk it, but of course I also have to do regular stuff (shower/food/etc). Then leave it alone to go to work, and the upstairs neighbors are home making noise walking/running/dropping things. Then I can play with it more when I get home, but then it's time for bed.
Will it be ok with this? I don't want it to be upset or get bored or go crazy because it's alone and the noise upstairs. My situation unfortunately, isn't changing anytime soon. I love pets, and if I get one, I will definately pick up a training course to do it right! What do you think?
