I got this from Amazons page that is selling the stuf:

"Provides superior odor control and is super absorbent--so your pets stay cleaner and drier.

Made of natural, biodegradable wood pulp fiber, sanitized to kill bacteria, mold, and fungus.

Natural, biodegradable fiber allows for safe and easy disposal.
Contains no contaminants, added inks or dyes, or chemicals, so it's safe for your pets! "

The wood Pulp thing seems to be the ingredient that is not recycled but still biodegradable

Wood pulp fiber...which is a fancy way of saying recycled cardboard. So yes...it's make of recycled materials (cardboard), which maked me feel much better about using it verses the wood savings (aspen) because I don't feel that I'm distroying trees to keep my piggies clean.
