Take your chi around other chi's and see how she acts. It is almost invevitable that if you do have 2 one of them will be dominant. They are usually ok with that situation as long as nobody gets physically hurt. Thats what a pack is all about.
I brought another dog home and my Tzu instantly became submisive to her. It was strange to watch the one that had lived here 3 years give over to this new dog. My husband did not like a new one taking over his "babys" house so we gave the new one away. Bringing in a puppy might make things different but I dont care for puppy training. All you can do is try. m

I have always heard that if you don't let them grow up together, then wait about 2 years to get another one-so the time seems about right for you. Your dog should have gotten all of the "new baby" out and is ready for a new dog to play with.

I have a chihuahua and he loves other dogs. Of course you have to monitor them at first. They will sniff each other and bark like crazy but the newness will wear off. My dog is best friends with an American Bulldog.

it's never to late. don't get one older then the one you have now or that could cause too much trouble.get one younger and allow the one you have now to declare dominence which may look violent to you but dogs have a pecking order and it's best for all if they are allowed to.your new pup must submit to the old.I have a 12 lb. fiest who can make our 55lb.hunting dogs lay down and piss themselves because she is older, been here longer and she's made that clear to everyone.

i had a dog that hated all other dogs going near our house but because she was old we decided to get another dog aswell. to start with we had the puppy in a pen outside so our other dog didn't mind and now the older dog looks after the puppy like her own. they get on great its the happiest we have ever seen her

Probably not a good idea. Ask at your pet shop.
