http://www.ukcdogs.com/RegBreedGroups.htm This is the info posted on the UKC (United Kennel Club) website about the breed. That is their parent registry in the US. Hopefully it can help.

No i dont think they would be, its something to do with the probability of a dog not responding to a command. i know thats why they use german shepherds, its 99% trainable. used to use dobermanns too but can only train them to 95% certainty. I don't know much about american bulldogs but i imagine its even less for them. Loads of exercise is the way forward to tire them out! or more training. if you haven't got the time to exercise everyday it may be kinder to take the dog to a re homing centre, (one of those that never put a healthy dog down!!)

Generally they use German Shepherds although they may use other breeds as sniffer dogs. At 2 years old your b1tch is too old and I doubt they would consider the breed.

they are not interested in american bulldogs or any other similar kind. Training and socialisation would help your dogs though. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get dogs to behave properly. Good excersize and a long hard run every day will also help them to become less boisterous.
