We had a Miniature Pinscher (Min-Pin) that died this summer and we are considering a new dog. I know terriers love to bark and dig and can be strong willed, but I love the way these breeds look, small but hearty, and full of personality! I know these breeds must be regularly groomed and clipped, but it's worth it for their low-shedding quality, which is perfect for our 6 year old asthmatic son. We also have an enthsiatstic 7 year old daughter who would love to brush out a dog daily. Any thoughts on your favorite: Scottie, Westie or Mini Schnauzer, would be appreciated.

My 5 year old cat loves to eat my hair. I pick her up and she starts chewing on my hair. She's not the first cat to do this either. My first cat, Sugar did the same thing? Anyone know why?

I'm interested in peoples experiences in settling in new dogs with established dogs and cats etc. How long did it take for them all to really settle together and be totally relaxed? What things did you do to help them get along? Experiences please!

I know some will advise to let her in - but she would like to be in all the time and i think cats should be outside alot as it is healthier for them (and the owners.) She also needs to be outside to poo as I don't think I should have to give her a litter tray when she has a garden. She cries all night and is driving me mad!

I just found a baby kitten last night and I have no idea how old it is, what the sex is or anything. I've had cats before but never this young. How do you find out the age and sex of a kitten and is it okay to feed him cow's milk?

As soon as he hears the theme song to "Law and Order" he howls. But only to the theme song of the old "Law and Order" (80's and 90's) Other then that, I can play all kinds of music, even if its similar, he doesn't react. He could be sleeping in the next room, but as soon as he hears the "dum dum" he sits right in front of the TV and howls. Anybody got a reasonable explanation or clue?

What do you call those "cone" shaped collars vets usually put on an animal to keep it from licking/scratching a wound? And where can you buy them?

My son will be 12 just after xmas, and his father and I are looking at getting him a snake. I'm looking for information from someone relatively experienced with them. What type of snake would be a good snake for a beginner? He knows very little about them, other than the fact that he likes them. He has an aquarium setup already, and the space for it ... just lack of information, lol. I've been told a corn snake might be the best way to go, but seldom given information as to WHY. Any information you have is greatly appreciated. :)

I live in Brazil and I am hopefully moving to the Beach soon and I want to get two Labradors, a Male and a Female. I don´t want to breed them but I think that they will be more contented if they have a Litters or two before I give them both the snip.
Would you recommend it better to get both dogs at the same time or would you recommend to get the Female six months before getting the Male. The reason I ask is because I have been told that if the Female is too small or too young then I have been told that the Puppies will not be healthy or would you recommend to get the Male first. As for training them would you recommend to train them both at the same time or would would you recommend to have one six months trained when I get the other so that the younger follows the older ?

Also, what would would you recommend to feed a Labrador from Puppy to Adult, Ihave been told that boiled chicken is very healthy for Dogs but I have been told raw minced beef is also good. Obviously food made especially for dogs is good but I think that Chicken and dog Biscuits would be the best. Would you agreee ?

And finally. If you mate a Chocolate Labrador and a Black Labrador what is the most likely colour of the Puppies ?

I just got this cat a few months ago- he is seven years old and is a strictly outdoor cat- I built a cozy house for him out of cedar but he doesn't seem to know it would be a good place to sleep.

I understand that leopard geckos can be quite hardy and do well with stress and nominal neglect. Don't get me wrong, I don't stress out nor neglect my baby, Frida. However, she lives in my classroom, and I am wondering if I should take her home over Thanksgiving break. Will she be okay for 5 days without me? Should I leave her with a handful of crickets and go? Or do I really need to pack her up and take her with me? Please advise!
