My friend smokes pot all the time and gets her dog high a lot. I was wondering about the long term effects of getting your dog stoned all the time. This seems stupid but if she is putting her dog in serious danger I would like her to know about it. I realize any smoke is bad but is it toxic to animals over time?

I have loved you, as you have me for so many years. Now I have to make the decision to let you go and chase rainbows. My heart is broken and I keep hearing you patter across the floor, but you are not here. You are hooked up on support at the Vets after renal failure. I have to go back in an hour and tell them I cant let you go on suffereing, if you are. I have just given you "permission" to go if you must and held you and kissed your gorgeous black face. What am I going to do without your love my Baggy? You are all I have. xxxx

I read a list of safe and toxic plants for cats. They say that hanging african violets and regualr ones are safe and that spider plants are safe so then would be it safe to say that the spider african plant is safe for my kitty? also is their any kind of plant that can kill a cat?I'd make sure I didn't have that kind. would it kill my cat fast?:-(would I know if he was sick from a plant?

I just wanted to know because I get so sad when I think of my dog dying. She's such a sweet, loveable little thing, and I just cannot imagine life without her. She is a 5 year old Beagle/Terrier mix. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old. She's in pretty good health. She went through a flea crisis this summer, but with the help of Frontline she's all better now! She's fairly active, most of the time she just likes to lay around the house and play with her toys.

A field mouse jus scuttled across my floor and went behind the frdige. I don't want it to have hundreds of babies and for me to be overrun by mice. What should I do?

I thought about using a hammer. Do you think I'd kill it with one blow?

All of my dogs, and my kitten had tapeworm. The vet said that I had to go around and clean up the animal "droppings". I did that but what is a way to make sure that there is no tapeworm in my yard? I have a very large yard, is there any way?

We had to clean up the poop so that they won't get it again. Please if your going to tell me i'm wrong or anything please don't post on this. The animals already have been taken care of.

Thanks!

Has anyone here ever judged dogs to the "Standard" ?
I know the standard but, I have a question on judging. Yesterday I asked if anyone knew if my dogs two faults were going to inhibit his ability to win in the ring. I am new to showing and not 100% sure about the scoring process. He is a Saint Bernard with light eyes and a 1/2 inch area on the lip that is white. I havent been able to find info on line that answers this question. Can someone offer the answer or a good web site ? I was on hold with the AKC for 35 mins. I gave up...How do judges score a fault and is it only traits that will pass with breeding (like light eyes) that are considered major flaws?

I just moved a week ago and I left my cat home alone for the first time to go to work, so I guess he was scared or angry and he pee'd on my bed! I sprayed it with a bathroom cleaner but it still smells. Is there anything that gets rid of the smell? I would hate to have to throw out my bed, I just got it last year and I paid a lot for it! I left to work today and made sure the bedroom door was closed!

I'm in college, and I live on campus, but it the school is in my home city, so I am able to come home some weekends without any problem. Everytime I come home my dog (whom I love very very very much) acts like she hasn't seen me in years. She's jumping like an acrobat and running around, and it makes me feel so loved! But sometimes I can be gone for like two or three hours and she acts the exact same way as if I've been gone for two or three weeks. She's closer to me than any other members of my family, and I cuddle her and treat her like my baby when I'm home; she also sleeps with me when I'm at home, and she sleeps in my bed when I'm away on campus. Is it weird that she acts this way or is it normal for a dog to be so attached? She's a 5 year old Beagle/Terrier mix named Oreo (in the picture).

I have two labs a black one (Rohm), who is almost 3 and a chocolate one (Taz) who is 6 months. Taz was potty trained and always went to the door when he had to go out. Now it seems like he “forgets” to go and goes a little in the house and then once you take him out he goes again. If I do not take him out at least every hour we go through this, but he can hold it all night long. Rohm can go hours without going and he always goes to the door when he has to go out. Also, we let Rohm stay in the house all day when we are not home but we have left Taz home with Rohm alone for 20 minutes a few times and each time our house is a mess when we get home We know it has to be Taz because Rohm never touches anything when he is by himself. What do you think is wrong with Taz in the peeing department and the tearing apart our house. We didn’t go through this with Rohm and the two dogs get along pretty well, other than them playing around, growling, and wrestling, but I think they are playing.

I have a male tabby cat about a 1 1/2 years old, and suddenly he started growling when we went near his food. We've been trying to figure out why, since we have never taken food away from him. He also now doesnt like to be touched when he's eating, where as before he didnt care. The rest of the time he acts normal as before. Any ideas?

I have two 1-year-old male dogs, both were nuetered at 6 months of age. My question is - is it normal for them to still try to, ehem, assume a mating position?

Because of this my husband thinks they weren't nuetered properly. I think it's a normal instinct in their brain, not their genitals.

We got a Staffordshire Terrior and she refuses to get house broken! She continually goes to the bathroom in the house. We take her out and she will pee but she will wait until she comes back in the house to poop. When we catch her going in the house we tell her she is bold and take her out immediately. What can we do to get her to not go in the house. (She was born May 1st).
