I have two labs a black one (Rohm), who is almost 3 and a chocolate one (Taz) who is 6 months. Taz was potty trained and always went to the door when he had to go out. Now it seems like he “forgets” to go and goes a little in the house and then once you take him out he goes again. If I do not take him out at least every hour we go through this, but he can hold it all night long. Rohm can go hours without going and he always goes to the door when he has to go out. Also, we let Rohm stay in the house all day when we are not home but we have left Taz home with Rohm alone for 20 minutes a few times and each time our house is a mess when we get home We know it has to be Taz because Rohm never touches anything when he is by himself. What do you think is wrong with Taz in the peeing department and the tearing apart our house. We didn’t go through this with Rohm and the two dogs get along pretty well, other than them playing around, growling, and wrestling, but I think they are playing.

He was potty trained and now it seems he can’s make it. When you say lets go outside he runs right to the door so I know he knows what he needs to do.

well with the peeing thing...what we did with our austrillian shepard it may sound disgusting but when he pee's take his nose and rub it in it and take him to the door and tell him outside and then let him outside we did that and it only took 2 weeks for us to potty train our dog.

First of all he is an infant. Infant pee when they need to. And you obviously have not yet taught him where is the proper place. You can do several things. 1) have him checked at the vets to be sure he does not have any bladder problems 2) clean, clean, clean everywhere he has ever peeds. Get up that smell from floor and furniture. Use an enzyme cleaner which will cut the smell. You can use a black light and find all the spots easily. 3) Make up a schedule. He needs to go outside THE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING and the very LAST THING AT NIGHT. 4) leash him to your belt loop or wrist when in the house so you can see him constantly. When you see him circling or sniffing rush him outside. 5) take him outside about every hour to the same place in the yard and when he does pee or poop praise him like he is royalty and has done a wonderful thing. 6) DO NOT YELL AT HIM, DO NOT SMACK HIM. be calm and quiet. You don't every have to say a word. 7) remove his water after 8pm so he can't tank up at night. But don't forget to put it back down 8) You can put him into a crate to sleep or when you need to have some free time. I always take my puppies to bed with me so I know if they move during the night and can rush them outside. It should take about 2 weeks of good constant training on your part and he will learn the behavior. But worth the time. But you got the guy now you need to invest the time to properly train him. He does not speed English so you have to teach him proper behavior and you need to learn dog.

Puppies have very little bladder control. When they get excited or nervous they may have an accident. Give him more time and be patient, he's just a baby. He should never be left in the house loose when you're not there to supervise. Would you leave your baby and go out? Same thing applies for puppies.

if the dog just started the peeing all the time you might want to take him to a vet. It could be a urinary tract innfection. we had that problem with our pup and took her to a vet and sure enough. She's been fine ever since. For the tearing things up it's a dog thing. I have to put my dogs in the laundry room when we go out because who knows what I will come home to.

When you gotta go, you gotta go .. but where?

Paper train your dog to go where you decide. First thing to do is cover the entire floor area with newspaper .. the dog will eventually "go" .. reward the dog for going on the paper .. lol .. couldn't miss could he? Gradually decrease the size of floor you cover with the paper and reward the dog for getting it right while scolding the dog for any misses. In time you'll get it down to a sheet or two and your dog will be trained for those times you're not available to take it on their regular walks.

Growling and wresting is how my dogs play. When I leave my dogs home alone too much they get mad at me and potty on the rugs and tear apart my home (they are potty trained). I have to be sure and give them plenty of attention and take them outside to play daily (to get out their energy and frustrations, lol).
