I just wanted to know because I get so sad when I think of my dog dying. She's such a sweet, loveable little thing, and I just cannot imagine life without her. She is a 5 year old Beagle/Terrier mix. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old. She's in pretty good health. She went through a flea crisis this summer, but with the help of Frontline she's all better now! She's fairly active, most of the time she just likes to lay around the house and play with her toys.

Beagles and most smaller breeds live a longer life than the larger dogs. You've likely got at least ten years left with your buddy.

depending on the dog, average life can be from 8-10 years for your big dogs, to 18-20 for small dogs. I would expect your dog to probably average about 15 years. However, so many other factors
effect your dogs age.
A lot has to do with your dogs health, and lifestyle.
A dog kept indoors with healthy romps and play time outdoors will live longer than a dog kept outside all the time.
Just like us, weight and activity level can also affect your dogs longivity. Also breed (and breeding) related problems, some dogs are prone more to cancer, hip problems, heart problems.
You can get an average by Breed (since yours a mix average the two) at the akc website.
Do you know who old the parents lived?

Well, normally dogs age depends on the size of the dog. The bigger the dog, the shorter the lifespan. Since your dog is a realitively small dog she'll have a longer life span. A beagle can live up to 13 years old (or more!) and a terrier lives up to 14 years, your dog will live to be 14 or 15 years old. So, have fun with her, and show her that she means a lot to you by pretty much spoiling her! Oh, and if you have any questions, please get back to me, i know just about everything on dogs.

it depends on the breed... average you can get a good 12 years out of a dog.. but some will live to see 9 years and others can reach up to 18.

beagles i seen reach up there in years... eldest i had was 19 years old.. terriers i think have shorter life spans... like 9 years.

you will just have to enjoy her while she's with you.... make sure she gets the treatment she needs.. the shots.. keep her fed with proper foods... active.. proper exercise and hydration...

she should do well... if she's healthy.. and nothing happens.. expect at the least 10 years...

It really depends on the dog. Different breeds have different life spans. In general, smaller breeds seem to have longer life spans. On an average, I would say 13 - 15 years would be a good estimate.

It extremely relies upon on the dogs, the breed, the dimensions and how healthy and extra healthy the dogs is. specially it extremely is approximately 8-sixteen. a great, extra healthy and healthy, mixed breed dogs will probable stay until approximately 14-15. maximum mixed breed dogs stay longer than pedigree or purebred dogs. they have little wellbeing subjects because of the reality they are crossed with many breeds and that they are often extra healthy. as long as your dogs maintains to be extra healthy, healthy and has extensive-unfold vet exams then i do no longer see why she could be passing away every time quickly.

A beagle terrier mix? She must be adorable! By the way if she is 5 years old, she is still just a pup!
