She has already had four. I think there is more but not sure. I think she is taking a break. I have read that they have 7-12 pups. She is 5 and this is her first litter. Thanks!

For the record, we have been trying for 3 years to get her to have pups. No go...we didn't even know she was pregnant until a few days ago and figured we had at least 30 days.
As far as proper planning, as soon as I knew I was working on it. She didn't even get big!! And now here she is with 6 pups.
So no need to be smart about it. For those of you who posted an answer with a sincere one, THANK YOU.

We aren't having them beause we are breeders, we just wanted pups from her before she got to old. I am not worried about her and maybe I should have asked the question better. I thought she was stopping at four, so I wanted to ask if it was normal, as is, we have 6 active little pups.

Hmmmm.....let me gaze into my crystal ball......
Looks like 9 more to me.
Okay, that's obviously not possible. I was just trying to make a point. As ludicrous as that sounds, that's essentially what you're asking by asking this question on the Internet. The only way you can KNOW if there are any more is to take her to your DVM, who can tell you by palpation and/or x-ray. Or....if you'd had her x-rayed a few days ago, you'd know how many to expect.
5 years old is awfully old for a boxer to be having a first litter. If she didn't get any regular prenatal care, there's a good likelihood that she needs assistance. If she's finished, there is postpartum medical care that she NEEDS.
Call her doctor.

It is possible she is taking a break but it may be that there are no more.
Feel her belly very thoroughly, pressing gently everywhere. If there is a pup left you should be able to feel a lump and sometimes can see it's outline.
If she is done she will act content and her belly will feel empty.
If she does not have contractions for 2 hours and you think there are more pups, then take her for a walk around the backyard, it should get the labor going again. Plus, she'll have to go potty by then anyways.

Hmmmm.....let me use my psychic powers........
Honestly, there is know way for us to know. Boxers can have from 1 to 13 pups (maybe more). I guess you didn't have an x-ray done to check, huh? Another case of lack of planning and research.....
When you think she's done, have her checked by the vet to be sure there are no more.
Sigh.
Edit: LMAO A Veterinarian, I see you had the same thought I did....
Edit2: "Trying for 3 years" is not planning and research. If you'd done those, you wouldn't be here in the middle of a whelping asking a bunch of yahoos questions like that. You've had three fricken years at least to learn this stuff and you still don't know the basics. Once she's pregnant is way late.

4 seems to be quite a small litter for a medium sized dog (first litter or not). If there are remaining pups to be whelped, you should/would be able to feel them. If it has been over an hour since the last pup, take her out for a BRIEF walk and potty call. If you can feel pups and she still hasn't had one within an hour of you walking her, then call your vet. She may need a little help.

There is no way anyone here can tell you if she Willl have more. You will only get everyone telling you ....
How many their friends dog had.
How boxers have on average, which means nothing.
40 people will say get the dog fixed.
40 more will ask why you bred.
another 40 wil tell you shouldn't have bred.
And at least a thousand will say "Call a Vet!!!!!!"
The only correct answer is wait and see...

Within a few hrs you will know...Its not like she is gonna close the hole off and decide to wait a week or two to have more. They will eventually drop out if any are in there....lol

She will either have no more or will have 1 or 2 more because the first litter is the smallest.
Just feel her to see if you feel any more babies kicking.
