I saw an advert on TV showing a monkey in a cage. They asked whether it was right to test a drug on him. I said "No". Then they asked whether it was okay if it would help a man in a wheelchair recover from an incurable disease. It was a difficult one but I decided the answer was still no. What are your thoughts on this - is it right to swap one life for another? Do you believe that all animals are inferior to humans and that it is okay to carryout experiments on them?

8 week old puppy, weighs about 19-20 ounces. Been feeding her a tablespoon of puppy chow 4 times a day. Is this enough? She always seems hungry. I don't want to overfeed her, she seems so tiny.

Also, I want to say thanks to everyone who offered names and other puppy advice. You are all a terrific help!

i was playing with my kitten and i tumbled her over, and there was this small black oval shaped thinggy on below tummy, it was easy to see cos her tummy is pink and her fur is white. i tried to pull it off, but as soon as i tried, it scuttled over to her leg, where her fur is black. i cant find it now?? i have no idea what it is. she also scartches the back of her ears often, and also inside her ears. i have no idea. i went to the vet about a month back, and the vet said that she is totaly free of any paracites. besides that, my kitten is totally housed in. she has never stepped foot on grass or soil. i live in a apartment. so,
im kinda wondering? what the hell is that? is there fleas on my kitten? and can fleas spread to humans, i sleep with her, so should i change all my sheets and pillows and blankets? i have some antiseptic shampoo for paracites, so should i bathe her immediately> or should i wait until monday to go to the vet?

Do you sometimes feel that if you weren't the one filling the food bowl, your cat would make you move out? How does your cat make you "serve" her?

I have a 6-7 month old kitten called Tibbles. Shes really playful and mischevous but I don't always have the time to play with her for as long as she wants. What sort of toys can I get her so that she can entertain herself for a while? I live in a flat, so theres no garden, but theres a balcony she goes on so shes not too enclosed. Please help, as i'm scared that i'm boring her and that she'll get depressed (if cat depression is possible, which it probably is) Thanks

I have not been around puppies since I was a kid and I need to know a few things.

First I have gotten a kiddie pool that is hard and HUGE for the momma and her babies. Now I only have a few things to ask.

1. When do there cute eyes open?
2. At what age can I give them away/sell them?

I have everything ready for when they run around. I got a outside play gate that is HUGE I got 2 of them cause there are 9 puppies in all so I didnt want to have them run different ways to where it was more work on me as well as just letting a few out at a time (not a fun thought). I have gotten canned milk in case some puppies arent getting milk since the big ones push some out of the way. SO far all is going well and I have found a great way to get the runts to eat by waking them up when the bigger puppies (who push them away) are sleeping so all the babies are healthy. That took a bit but its working and the runts have caught up in weight now and they are almost 2 weeks old.

Thank You

why do so many people think that when u chain your pitt up with a loggin chain is so cruel when actually the vet said it's ok if they have upper body strength and/ or break regualr chains. and in my own opinon i dont think its cruel if you still socailze them. and walk them or not jus have them back their chained, or use them for illegal purposes

I have a 1 year old cat that is pregnant with her 2nd litter and i think she'll be due in a couple weeks...i wanted 2 kno if i could still spay her even though she is almost due? Would it be a dangerous procedure for her?

--and for all the people out there who think i'm cruel for spaying her while she's pregnant..can you please keep the negativity to yourself....i have kept her 1st litter of 4 and i have 3 other cats that i took in when they were little so it would be hard for me to give up her 2nd litter knowing the fact that i might not be able to find a home for all and i would just worry too much about them getting put to sleep if anything, so i really feel i have no options......please help!!!

My sister-in-law in Kent has 3 KC registered/ wormed/ golden retriever puppies left from a litter of 10. Unfortunately my brother and her are splitting up and she is running low on energy and cash for adverts - has anyone got any ideas how to find these pups a home and perhaps get some money for them to help her financial situation. I think they are now about 10 weeks old... she is at the end of her tether! Help

Given the advice from some of my other questions, I went to the PetSmart webpage to investigate certain issues for my dogs. Offhandedly I noticed a "doggy daycare", thought it a cute idea, and checked it out. Imagine my shock to find that a major pet store practices breedisim... they will not accept *any* "bully breed" or any dog that looks like a bully breed.

Now, I do not care that it is a service that I, nor any smart bully owner would probably ever *use*, they have bought into and are *promoting* the bad rap against our beloved pets! A *MAJOR* petstore, *advertising* that they refuse a service to a certain group.

PETCO, offers the same rescue/adoption services, and gives *every* dog the same chance, they must all pass an equal test.

Here, then, is the question: Do you not agree that this deserves a boycott of PetSmart?
