Are you serious? Stop asking people on yahoo answers and take the poor dog to the vet! Or do you even care about the dog? Doesn't sound like it. Take the poor thing to your vet! NOW!

You people need to stop judging her. Maybe its not her dog, maybe she cant afford a vet. Most vets are heartless and want 80% up front. Sweety look, my dog had something strange going on, his front half of body was fine and healthy his rear end was dangling lifeless, he could hardly walk, when he used his rear legs they were stiff straight and would not bend at all. This happened after I was gone on a 2 week cruise, I left him boarded at a friends kennel. When I got back he look like that. I though a bigger dog jumped on him and hurt his back it was a Sunday and no vets were opened in my town. I took him home gave him a warm bath, rubbed his legs to stimulate preasure and blood flow and looking for fractures or broken bones. I couldnt tell anything was broke. The next morning I took him to the doctor he was much worse he was breathing hard, would hardly open his eyes and his nose was crusty. The doctor said he most likely was trampled and has internal injury. My dog was current on all vacines but suffered from an imune system weakness since he was a puppy. 2 days later after dropping him off at the vet he died his diagnosis was disptemper. I did not know but giving him a bath was the worst thing I could do. the bateria in the water worsened his codition and sent the sickness into his lungs

This could either be EXTREMELY serious, or nothing at all.

Sometimes when dogs hurt their spines, they will start dragging their legs because of momentary paralysis. If your dog is a smaller dog that jumps up and down from high areas such as a bed, sofa or something, it is common for them to hurt their backs. Next time he does the leg dragging thing, feel his stomach. If his stomach feels very inflated and rock hard, it is probably his back. Their stomachs tend to get this way when they've got pain in their backs.

Now it could also be nothing at all, maybe just tired or something. I would definitely take him to the vet, or maybe just talk about it with his vet the next time he's got a check up. Good luck.

This can be a number of things and scratching his belly is not one of them. ,Like people, dogs need to be healthy to enjoy life. Dogs are our friends, companions and often our guardians, but since they are also totally dependent on us for their well-being, it is our responsibility to look after them properly. If you live in a tick prone area, be sure to keep a tick collar on your dog at all times. Mark the renewal date on the calendar so you don't forget to renew it. Your pet's life may depend on it! Grass ticks cause itchy lumps that can become infected when scratched. If not removed quickly, the paralysis tick can cause death in three to five days. If your dog seems to suddenly have weak back legs and falls over often, inspect it immediately for a tick and get it to the vet as soon as possible. Luckily, the tick vaccine works well and quickly and can save a dog that looks like it is gasping its last breath.

arthritis can do this also, if the dog has ingested macadamia nuts, it will cause temporary paralysis,

For a condition like this that is affecting primarily the rear limbs, a
problem with an intervertebral disc, instability of the lumbo-sacral
junction (cauda equina syndrome) or other spinal cord injury seems likely

AS you can see there can be many possibilities, what i have listed is only some possible causes, BUT it is imperative you get vet attention for your dog NOW> Yahoo answers is not really the place to seek medical advice for your dog. We can only give you what ifs or could be's so go to your vet now. Give them a phone call asking them and i would say they would tell you get it there immediately.

If this canines has injured it rather is backbone, waiting even an hour to get treatment could desire to intend everlasting paralysis. there is not any telling what occurred to reason the subject inspite of the undeniable fact that this is one that should be addressed in the present day via any vet you will get to. maximum areas have emergency vets. a minimum of attempt calling somebody or the doggy could finally end up being positioned down.

Does he sit on them and drag his butt along the ground? If so he has something like a hemmroid and trying to get relief. Take him to a vet and the vet will pop/squeeze the liquid out to relieve him. But if you go back with the dog, be advised it stinks.

Had to have that done to a Basset Hound about every 3 months.

Depends what you mean by dragging it's legs. If it is unable to walk on them then you need to see a vet asap, otherwise sometimes dogs drag themselves along the ground to scratch their tummy or whatever.

You need to get that dog to a vet! What is the matter with you?? What kind of a responsible pet owner would ask a question as serious as this on YAHOO instead of going to the vet immediately? Give the dog up, buddy...your not making it happen.

I had a dog who did this and we went to the vet and nothing was wrong and then we figured out he only did it when he was tired or just feeling lazy
