That is like asking how can you stop them from having skin. You can't it just is. You can make it less of a problem by brushing the dog daily.
Good luck, give the pooch a hug for me.

you can't. It is normal and natural for ALL animals to lose hair as new hair grows. You can minimise the effect by daily down to the skin brushing and combing using the proper brush. As an ex groomer I have dogs come to me in a terrible matted state and the owners say they brush it daily. When I ask to see the brush it is totally inadequate for the coat type and they end up just smoothing the top layer while the undercoat is left to knot up.
Vitamins, pills and the like won't stop what nature has designed to happen. No diet will stop it . Feeing a high protein diet will simply make your dog more active and if it is an older dog, damage his kidneys.

Many dogs shed at this time of year. The dog is shedding his light summer coat and growing his winter coat to keep him warm. You can't stop it and you should have realised that the bread of dog that you have would shed his coat.
To minimise the effects of the shedding, or rather control the amount that ends up on your floors, you need to brush his coat daily. This will take the hairs off his body and you can control the disposal of them.
Breeds such as poodles don't shed and thus need trimming.

I also have the same problem with my dog!!! now you could start keeping your dog outside, this way your dog would pretty much stop malting (but its not very nice), but if you keep your dog in door's and the house is warm, the dog is going to malt!! but you could slow it down by feeding it high protein dog food (lots of vitamins), but good dog food isn't cheap the best brands are Eukanuba or Royal Canin these are easy digestable dog foods (the dog wont want to go to the toilet a lot) and the proteins help the dogs coat. Also try brushing your dog once or twice a week and give it a hair cut now and again (give it a try)!! Buscuits are better that can'ed dog food

Brushing and if long haired, have it trimmed professionally. You can hurt a dog trimming it if you do not know what you are doing--cuts, sometimes nasty.

you will not stop it shedding its fur, you can stop most of the fur
around the house by grooming it. but don't groom it too harsh in
winter because it will have grown it's winter undercoat

all you do is just brush him/her every day and this should also help prevent hair balls so just brush every day probably twice a day depending on how big your dog is. if large twice a day if small once a day.

Regular grooming can help. But you will never really be able to stop it.
