Pets - 24 November 2006

I'm considering rats as pets for my two teenage boys. They are very keen on the idea (the boys are, that is). Should I get males or females? The boys want pets that will hang out with them, not scurry away all the time. Any advice?

PLEASE don't suggest anything that millions of dogs are already named and are sickeningly overused (IE, Spot, Rover... exc...)

I'm looking for something italian, we have another dog which we named Luigi. (Don't suggest Mario either, too obvious)

Or names of parners, brothers, exc... (Luigi from Mario and Luigi, Clide from Bonnie and Clide, and so on...)

He's small, but a little chubby and he's a bichon frise.

About 2 months ago on September 20,2006 our 10 month year old Border Collie Dog Bailey got hit by a car and, me and my sister were upset now today November 24, 2006 we were coming home and we saw a black cat on the side of the road and we stoped and it was our 3 year old cat Cinder. I have a female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She is 6.
She has not been desexxed, and she is definitely NOT pregnant.
When i first got her, and she first went on heat, we also had a little puppy who had to be taken early from his mother, and was still suckling at the time. He began to latch onto my female dogs nipples, and tried to feed. She eventually began to produce small amounts of milk and fed him, even though she was not his mother.
This was 5 years ago, her nipples are still very big, and people always ask me if she just had puppies or of she is pregnant.
They are long (about 2 cm).
What might be the cause of this, and how can they go back to normal?

It doesn't matter how many times I change my cats litter box, it always smells as though I haven't changed it in weeks. Yuck. Please help!

My dog is about 5 yrs old. He was a good house trained dog until we moved. Since we moved he has peed on 2 certain chairs...Now its gotten to the point he pees on EVERYTHING, The filing cabinet, the washing machine, the recliner, the game chair, the walls. I have a 9 month old that is crawling and I dont want her to get into his pee pee. Any ideas on how to stop him? No, Rubbing his nose in it doesnt work!!

My puppy has been cryin for the last few days, originally thought from her leg since she was limping, after fully examinin it and nothing, we were puzzled. then she started cryin when we pick her up, so we though shoulder or ribs, increased to whinning continuosly. We took her to the emergency yester. He said he thought back pain and said abdomen was swallen, gave pain and antiinflamotory meds, 229.00$. Today she was trying to eat a treat and then spit it out and while crying out in pain threw up white thick foam, which had a streak of blood in it, I dont know what to do, I cant afford another emergency vet bill, u think I can wait til tomorrow for the reg vet?Does it seem like something could be lodged in her stomach or worse damaged something? I called the emergency vet again and they said they may try an injection of pepcid, do you think thats something I could administer but the human kind? Is there something I can give her to rule out an upset stomach? Help me please I dont know??

the fish filtration system first pumps water out fine, then it pumps water out with a rhythm, and finally pumps out very little. the filter screen itself isn't even dirty, so is there a way to make sure it keeps on pumping water out?

okay so im buying a dog and i saw a petsmart or petco ad about 2 weks ago and i saw the cutest dog, its small, black with a tiny bit of brown and my mom said its some kind of terrier, it has a short beard, fuzzy ears, looks like a fox terrier only smaller and fuzzier, very playful. i cannnot find anything like it exept for a fox terrier.

He can only have deramaxx every other day it is having a effect on his liver. he has been wetting his bed more than twice a day the last several days and he needs help getting up i use treats to get him going and this seems not to be working anymore he walks some then falls.he will start barking and i will try to find out why and i dont know why.his back legs are so stiff and his bones in hind legs and hips make clicking noises.i have a gut feeling this following week is gonna be bad and euthanization is my only option this is so stressfull for myself and family how do you know your dog is suffering?
