Not at all. When the pups are born, just make sure there are no stillborns in the cage and if so, promptly remove them. I always clean the cage out after the birth to get rid of the afterbirth reminants(ie, blood). After that, just make sure mom has plenty of food and water and tell shes done a good job! Once the pups reach about 14 to 28 days of age, they can be weaned at this point. As for separting the males from females, it is best to just separate them during the weaning.

The boar should be removed from the sow once she is pregnant. She should have at least 5 months of rest between litters. So you will need to put the happy couple into separate cages.

P.S. A boar can get his mother pregnant as early as 3 weeks old.

Only remove the male for 3-4 days. Otherwise they will mate immediately after giving birth. After 3 days she will not accept him until the babies are weaned. You can then return the male to the group. He will not hurt the babies. He will mate with the females once the are sexually mature.

yes you should seperate the male and the female and then after the babies are about 6 - 8 weeks old you can remove them from the cage and put the male back in but keep the male seperated from the babies unless you are sure that they are males as well

You should read the question about the dad bunny eating his baby bunnies. I would never think that that would happen, but it happened to her. I would separate them just to be safe. We don't want anything to happen to the cute little babies.
