I have a 6-7 month old kitten called Tibbles. Shes really playful and mischevous but I don't always have the time to play with her for as long as she wants. What sort of toys can I get her so that she can entertain herself for a while? I live in a flat, so theres no garden, but theres a balcony she goes on so shes not too enclosed. Please help, as i'm scared that i'm boring her and that she'll get depressed (if cat depression is possible, which it probably is) Thanks

Lazers are great. Spencer gifts sells one that operates itself. Also catnip puffballs, mice, and ping=pong balls are always a hit. Another great toy is a box with a hole cut in the side for them to get in and "hide". Shoelaces tied from a doorway can provide hours of fun. The plastic ring fron the neck of a milk jug is another favorite. But trust me when I tell you your cat will NOT get bored by herself even if you do not provide anything for her. If you don't believe me just leave a camcorder or webcam recording when you leave. When you review the recording I'm sure you'll be amazed at what you find.

A small cardboard box (big enough for her to sit in) lined with a sheet of wrapping paper or gift tissue in it makes a great (but somewhat noisy) diversion for a bored cat. We call ours the crinkle box.

Cats'll play with anything, one of mine used to play for hours with a ping pong ball in the bath, lovely at about 3am! Something on elastic that pings about alot when she bats it should amuse her. But more or less anything that moves when she bats it will give her hours of fun, especially if you have tiled floors, almost anything can be scooted about on a tiled floor.

Don't worry, she's a kitty and she'll come into her own. But little balls you and her and toss around, catnip-filled toys, and anything that dangles. Enjoy her.

I agree with a couple previous answers that say you should get a Toy with Catnip in it.

Anything that moves. Fake mice, balls, bit of crumpled paper, stuff like that. She'll stalk them or bat them around like cats do when they are hunting.
