My sister-in-law in Kent has 3 KC registered/ wormed/ golden retriever puppies left from a litter of 10. Unfortunately my brother and her are splitting up and she is running low on energy and cash for adverts - has anyone got any ideas how to find these pups a home and perhaps get some money for them to help her financial situation. I think they are now about 10 weeks old... she is at the end of her tether! Help

Contact the golden retriever rescue society or the RSPCA. Good luck.

Hi, What an unfortunate situation. As stated somewhere already, the dogs are worth around £300 - £400 each, just as long as somebody wishes to buy one. Christmas time is not really the time to be getting a new addition to the family, as its a hectic enough time as it is, without the added worry of a puppy. There is really no easy answer to this question, either someone will buy them, or some of them, or they won't. If she gets totally stuck with them and doesn't wish to give them away, I would take them and give her some money, but it wouldn't be a great deal. I would merely do this because I am such a dog lover that it pains me to think that these poor puppies could end up going somewhere that they maybe wouldn't of gone, had your brother & his partner not broken up. Dogs, and more so puppies, are like children and need attention and understanding at all times, as well as affection. If you wish to contact me regards rehoming these dogs, please email me tom at tunalick dot com 'GOOD LUCK'

There are loads of sites selling puppies she could advertise on there or maybe do it the oldfashioned way, put a notice in the local papershop's window. Also adverts in newspapers don't cost too much too advertise, maybe there is a local free paper that would reach lots of people.
I'd love to say I'd take one but my house is kind of full at the moment.

Hi,try putting advertising them in the following papers:www.adtrader.co.uk www.friday-ad.co.uk www.loot.com? www.free-ad.net I wouldn't give them away to cheap, start asking around about prices for retrievers then you'll be able to get a good idea of how much they go for.

She can advertise them in AdTrader free of charge (the blue/yellow paper). She can log on to www.adtrader.co.uk and set up an advert online.

anywhere reputable really. you don't want to go putting ads in your local newsagent, for example, as this may attaract potenital buyers who you will have no knowledge of whatsoever. its a bit risky, really- you could be selling off your puppies to absolutely anyone, who maybe not who they seem!

They should be worth at least £400 each if they KC registered, so don't give them away too quick

They're goldens... a favored breed... she shouldn't have any problems! If their parents were prizewinners, she might try advertising them in the dog-show circuit.... if not, c'mon, who doesn't want a goldie?

How about telling her to phone her local radio station and explain the situation? I'm sure there are people out there who want puppies for Christmas pressies for their loved ones!
