8 week old puppy, weighs about 19-20 ounces. Been feeding her a tablespoon of puppy chow 4 times a day. Is this enough? She always seems hungry. I don't want to overfeed her, she seems so tiny.

Also, I want to say thanks to everyone who offered names and other puppy advice. You are all a terrific help!

i say get the canned puppy food. since the pup is tiny you should get the small cans. that should be enough per feeding. about 3 times a day. also it is softer and easier to digest for a pup than the dry pup food. i miss my dog. my landlord soesnt allow pets. good luck

So here's the situation: Your puppy is at an age where it is very active and needs as much nutrition as possible so what you're giving her may be enough, but the idea of free-feeding at this point isn't out of the question. The only time this could become a problem is if your puppy becomes overweight, in which you'll want to institute set times to feed the puppy. Also, now is an extremely good time to start crate training your puppy...the sooner the better! Good luck!

Cow's milk can give dogs diarrhea. I hope you are feeding them a milk replacer made for puppies? At 7 to 8 weeks of age, it is definitely time to start offering them a good quality Puppy Food mixed with warm water to a mushy consistency. Don't use cow's milk. They should be fed 4 or 5 times a day.

just keep the bowl full and also the water full remember let them out every 2 hours if the have eaten or not. if they wake up from a nap pick them up and take them out to potty. I know you were asking about the other end... But what goes in must come out. puppies will eat when they are hungry remember they eat small amounts more often. don't worry about over feeding you should feed them dry puppy chow not can food canned is bad for their teeth and their digestive tract. you want them to poop little hard turds not runny and if you feed the puppy can food you are gonna make it finicky and have a hard time when it gets older. to make the transition put warm wate in the dry food and mash it with a fork and evry day after leave bigger chunks then eliminate the water in the food all together. Good luck!

We always feed our puppy twice a day, morning and night but I would check with your vet, especially if she is still hungry. She may need to be wormed or just isn't getting enough to eat. Good luck with her!

Once a day. It will feed itself to the extent it needs. Do not force it to eat more.

Leave feed and water out for it so if it wants to drink or eat it can.
